St. Paul Monastery

St. Paul's Abbey and the nearby St. Anthony's Abbey are from the same era. St. Paul's age (232-345A.D) is older than St. Anthony's age (251-365A.D), and he entered the desert asceticism earlier. Similar to Anthony's background, after his parents died at the age of 16, he Under the guidance of God, he sold all his property and distributed it to the poor, and went into the desert alone to start a life of asceticism. According to legend, until his death at the age of 113, he only drank a small amount of water, ate a few dates, and every day a crow brought him half a slice of bread for a living. One day God told St. Anthony that there was another person who was deeper than him in practice, so St. Anthony found St. Paul under the guidance of God. When St. Anthony first visited, the crow brought a whole slice of bread, and St. Paul was sure that the visitor was sent by God, because a slice of bread was divided between two people. The two met and became friends ever since. All the facilities in the monastery are no different from those of St. Anthony and other monasteries, churches, restaurants, dormitories, vegetable fields, grain processing equipment, orchards and vegetable fields. In front of St. Paul's Church is the beautiful St. Mark's Church built in the 18th century, where various ceremonies of the monastery are carried out.
