Bourtange, one of the world's six "star fortresses", is a small village in the eastern part of the Groningen province of the Netherlands, and is also part of the Frachtwerder Autonomous Region, located 32 kilometers northeast of Emmen. The center of the city is a square structure with two wooden openable and closable drawbridges, a star-shaped moat, and military camps and official boarding houses. Come to this lively “History Museum”, you will have a feeling of going back to 1742, and you can get a close look at the life of the residents at that time.
