We travelled 1.5 hours from Libo to Danzhai to experience batik art first-hand; a craft inherited through generations among the Miao ethnic group. While we were disappointed that it wasn’t the intimate workshop we had hoped for in terms of learning more about the history of the craft and the meaning behind the designs and motifs we saw (we were led to a huge open plan room, handed pots of melted wax and told to just get on with it 😆), we loved exploring shops filled with delicately decorated batik prints hidden within the streets of the town, alongside intricate architecture and a street a filled with life. 📍Danzhai, Guizhou, China #leaveyourmark

Like the night of the ancient town, compared to the hustle and bustle of the daytime, there is a light beauty in the night. Therefore, one of the most pleasant things in Wanda Town is to walk in the town after dinner, aimlessly and simply walk. The town has a lantern, but not a lot, it will not look flamboyant. Compared with the daytime, there are indeed a lot less tourists at night, so it feels very comfortable to walk around. Don't you feel it? It belongs to the most peaceful night in Danzhai Town.

In the days when I traveled in the town of Danzhai Wanda, I didnt have to worry about what to eat. From the street restaurant to the snacks at the end of the street, I was able to eat a lot of food, and I ate three restaurants, most of which were hot and sour. A selection of Miao specialties, almost every restaurant exudes a strong Miaojia atmosphere, making people feel in the Miao world.

As the crowd grows, the town gradually becomes more and more lively. When I got up, I could see the scene on the street from the window of the room. I reached out and tried the quiet morning outside and put on a thick coat and went out. An unprecedented banquet for tens of thousands of people, a long table banquet of more than 3,000 meters runs through the whole street, and tens of thousands of people participate. Everyone gathers together to enjoy the delicious snacks of Danzhai and share the festival of Chongyang. Of course, it has set a new world record. Before the start of the long table banquet, the Miao people's villagers sacrificed their ancestors with rice wine, glutinous rice, fish and other sacrifices to celebrate the harvest and pray for the coming year. There are many foods on the long table feast, such as ancient Tibetan meat, glutinous rice, leeks and roots, but everyone not only eats well, but also has a good time. During the toasting period, the Miaos unique hospitality customs mountain flowing water set off a wave of climax. Six or seven Miao girls sang the Miao toast songs and slanted the wine bowls to the tourists' mouths. A pot of rice wine was dumped from the top to the tourists' mouths until the tourists finished the whole pot of rice wine. until.
