Bom Jesus do Monte 🇵🇹 Beautiful from the first step to the top.
Another place in Portugal that we really loved is Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga. The most striking feature is the large white stone staircase leading up in layers, lined with fountains, statues, and beautiful details along the way.
Upon our first arrival, we felt that the actual place was even more magnificent than the pictures. The staircase is stunning and has a unique dimension, especially when viewed from the bottom, perfectly aligned to reach the church at the top.
The day we went, the sky was clear and sunny. The blue sky contrasted beautifully with the white staircase and the green trees, making everything look vibrant. The climb was a little tiring, but there were many places to rest and take photos along the way, so we didn't feel rushed.
Once we reached the top, the view was worth it. The atmosphere was more peaceful than at the bottom. There was the church itself, a large plaza, and a panoramic view of the city in the distance. It was one of the best moments of our trip.
If you're visiting Braga, we recommend allocating some time to Bom Jesus do Monte. Don't just come to take pictures with the staircase and leave. Because the details along the way are just as beautiful.

🇵🇹✨ Bom Jesus do Monte | Braga, Portugal
Another stunning place in Portugal that will make you stop and admire it! 🤍
Located in Braga, Portugal, Bom Jesus do Monte is notable for its massive stone staircase leading up to the church at the top. The view from below is breathtaking, especially the zigzag design of the stairs, with statues and architectural details to admire along the way.
What I loved most was the symmetry between the staircase and the church. On a bright blue day, the contrast with the white building and the greenery of the surrounding trees makes it look like a painting. 📸🌿
Although there are many steps to climb, there are plenty of spots to stop and take photos along the way. For those who don't want to climb all the stairs, there's also a funicular railway available.
Once at the top, you'll see both the beautiful church and a panoramic view of Braga city. The atmosphere is serene, peaceful, and charming.
This place isn't just about the view; it's also an important religious site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If you're planning a trip to Portugal, this is a must-see! I highly recommend visiting Braga and seeing Bom Jesus do Monte at least once. It's another place that impressed me with both the beautiful architecture and the surrounding atmosphere. ❤️
