Hello from sunny Muscat! Work at the office has been quite hectic lately, so I’ve been spending my evenings daydreaming about my next holiday. I always prefer a slower pace of travel—no rushing from one monument to another, just lots of walking and sitting in cozy cafes watching the world go by.
I was looking at a lovely route through Spain recently and it got me so excited! It starts in Madrid with a completely free day to just wander around and settle in. Honestly, that is my absolute dream. I can already picture myself walking through Retiro Park, finding a quiet bench, and then heading to a local cafe for a warm drink.
Oh, and they say September is beautiful there, but the evenings get a bit chilly. I’ll definitely need to pack a light jacket—though, being used to the freezing office AC here, I always have a shawl or cardigan with me anyway!
What really caught my eye is the idea of visiting Toledo and Girona. I love old historic towns. Walking along the ancient city walls in Girona or seeing the old stone streets of Toledo sounds so peaceful. And in Barcelona, I’d probably spend hours just getting lost in the Gothic Quarter, stopping whenever I see a cute pastry shop. Apparently, they have these lovely sweet candies for the Three Kings' festival, which sounds like such a sweet local tradition to experience.
It sounds like the perfect mix of beautiful old architecture and plenty of time to just *be*. Have any of you been to Spain? I’d love to hear about your favorite quiet spots to just sit and enjoy the vibe!
