Today’s Yuhuatai is a cemetery for revolutionaries. It is well-known in Nanjing and even in China. Yuhuatai consists of three hills, with a platform on each of the hilltops. The entire area is divided into six blocks: Martyr's Park, historic sites, Yuhua Stone Cultural Zone, Yuhua Tea Culture Zone, amusement activity area and the forest area. It is not only a tourist attraction but also a recreational space for Nanjing citizens. Soldiers fighting for the New Democratic Revolution were martyred here; as many as 100,000 people died. There are loyalty pavilions, monuments, and sculptures of martyrs on the square. There are lanterns that are continuously illuminated under the monument, as if to signify that the death of the martyrs would never be forgotten.
