The Osaka Municipal Museum of Art is located at Chaussan corner in Tennoji Park and opened in 1936. It was rebuilt from the mansion of the old chaebol, which used to be the residence of the Sumitomo family. The classical-style architecture is very charming. Follow the signs and head down the gallery's promenade, where you'll see colourful paintings and fine pottery under the soft lighting. The collection mainly includes oriental art such as Chinese paintings and stone Buddhas, as well as Japanese art such as Buddhist art, materials of Korin Ogata, and modern lacquer craftsmanship. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the content of the exhibition changes at any time.
