Iglesia de Santa Ana Review

It is a beautiful church built on the beachfront in 1266. We put it on a walk around Triana and it was a pleasant surprise. It costs 2 euros per piece and we are happy to pay for the maintenance. The information leaflet is only available in Spanish but contains a lot of information.

A very beautiful and elegant church, very European-style architecture.

Across the river in the Triana district, the 13th century church Santa Ana provides another method of predicting whether you’ll soon be walking down the aisle. An ancient tomb built into the wall is said to be the final resting place of a shoemaker, some say from Africa. For reasons that have been lost in the dim mists of antiquity, it is said that if you kick this tomb, you’ll be married within the year. The church fathers got tired of all the damage, so they erected a little iron railing around it – but positioned it just close enough that if you really stretch, your foot can connect solidly with the side of the tomb. Located in the lovely neighbourhood of Triana, this 13th-century church is well worth the walk across the bridge.
