Nanchan Temple in Wuxi has a long history. It is located in the central area of Liangxi District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. It belongs to the south corner of Wuxi. It is one of the 480 temples in the Southern Dynasty with unique features along the ancient canal. Founded in the reign of Emperor Wudi of Liang Dynasty during the Taiqing Dynasty, the temple of the Southern Dynasty is unparalleled, known as "the most successful jungle in the south of the Yangtze River". Xiao Yan, the Liang Emperor of the Southern Dynasty, advocated Buddhism and built many temples throughout the country. At that time, Wuxi also built many temples, including a large-scale Protectorate Temple. Among the ten temples in Liangxi, the Nuguo Temple is the second. During the reign of Xianheng (670-674), Emperor Gaozong of Tang Dynasty renamed Lingshan Temple, and Emperor Renzong of Northern Song Dynasty renamed "Fusheng Chan Temple", but the people called it Nanchan Temple because of its location in Nanmen. After the reform and opening up, a comprehensive cultural market of more than 120,000 square meters has been built in Sixing City, Nanchan Temple Cultural Mall. The northern part of the mall is a Ming and Qing style building complex, while the southern part is a Song style ancient building. Zhongmiaoguang Street has been named Wuxi City Tourism Street by Wuxi Municipal Government. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
