The monastery was founded as early as the 13th century, but now it is mostly preserved from the 16th to 19th centuries. The 72-meter-high, yellow-and-white clock tower is the tallest building in Suzdal. The clock tower of the monastery was under repair when it went. Not far from the bell tower along the wall is the double arched gate of the convent of the Holyrood.
