The Queen Sirikit Plant Garden, located at the foot of a mountain in Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai, opened in 1992, is the oldest and most important botanical garden in Thailand and is the center of scientific research. It is dedicated to the collection, protection and research and cultivation of rare and endangered flowers in Thailand. The plant garden is mainly concentrated in the cultivation and research of flowers in northern Thailand, and there are precious plants abroad. It has a complete research and education system. It is the earliest botanical garden in Thailand with international standards. Plant gardens are divided into tree plants, climbing plants, herbs, tropical rainforest plants, desert plants, orchids and ferns, aquatic plants, etc., of which the tropical rainforest botanical garden covers an area of 1,000 square meters, planting palm trees, banana trees, etc. in Thailand and Southeast Asia; Orchids and ferns live in more than 1,200 kinds of plants, local orchids can reach more than 80 kinds; aquatic plants can reach more than 100 kinds, such as water lilies, aquatic ferns and phoenix orchids.
