Wat Pa Pao is a highly regarded temple with Burmese style, built by Shan people (Shans) . These Shans; (Shans) & Yu 1883 came to Chiang Mai to trade timber with the British over the years. They wanted to have their own holy place for Buddhist worship, so they built the temple. The temple is surrounded by sunken gardens, including a brick-and-cement Buddhist pagoda and a recently built monastery. The roof design of Shan Buddhist Hall is in the form of " Payata " (pyatthat) which consists of many layers and the last layer has a cusp. Three statues of Buddha are enshrined in the arch temple. During the visit, I came across the pagoda of PaPaPao Temple being renovated, and the ancient and Burmese style hall was surrounded by iron railings for the purpose of preserving cultural relics. But from the outside, you can see the appearance of the hall, which is very beautiful. Wat Pa Pao's pagoda or buildings have a strong sense of vicissitudes of life, perhaps because of old disrepair, so we can see that some of the small pagodas nearby have cracks, and the main hall is blocked in the fence, and no repair has been seen, presumably because of the lack of funds. I just hope these buildings will be well preserved.
