It is one of the four major library buildings in Zhejiang, located on the front street of Ruian Chengguan Road. Built by Sun Yiyan and Sun Yirang in 1888, it now includes Baijinzhai and the former residence of Sun Yirang. The main feature of its architecture is that it integrates the function of a library building, the characteristics of excellent residential buildings in southern Zhejiang and the style of private gardens. Yuhai Tower is facing south, surrounded by rivers on three sides, with two entrances in front and back, corridors on the left and right, quiet courtyards, and sparse flowers and trees. Because the father and son of the Sun family admired the rich works of Wang Yinglin, a scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty, their masterpiece "Jade Sea" was named the building.
