At the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Shanghai gentleman Cao Chuihui purchased this garden and entrusted the Taoist management, and then became a Taoist view, called "the Pearl Palace", the gods of the Doum and the Wendi. Daoguang eight years (1828) founded the Pearl Academy here.
