The area is beautiful, mountain and the sea, relatively safe except for speeding drivers and constant second hand smoke. The area is barbaric and lawless. The 17km of beach is littered with disgusting dirty beach beds, mystery food that will most definitely create stomach issue. The "marina" is a junkyard for all types of boats and needs extensive renovations.If you find a place to eat, make sure it is family owned and an owner is preparing meals. Taverna is your best option, stay away from any so called "restaurants" There is NO service or understanding of service for even basic customer expectations. There is nothing in the immediate area that is worth visiting or any attraction.Mediocre hotels, mostly very low quality frozen food, and beaches littered with uncleaned areas. There are so many better places in and around Greece to visit, better people and hospitality and better overall experience.
