Xewkija is a village on the island of Gozo in Malta with a population of more than 3,000 people and is the fourth most populous area of Gozo, located between Gajnsielem and the capital Victoria. It is the oldest village in Gozo. In 1678, it became the first parish outside Victoria. The famous circular church in Xwkija is the largest in Gozo, built by local stonemasons and craftsmen in Maltese stone, and its dome occupies the entire village, and the church can accommodate 3,000 people, equivalent to the entire population of Xwkija village. The church, dedicated to the baptist St. John, was completed in 1981. It is known as the fourth largest supporting dome in the world, 74 meters high, 27 meters in diameter and 85 meters in circumference.
