I’ve read some pretty terrible reviews about this experience but going on an uncrowded rainy day was not a bad experience! Each boat holds 4 passengers and you must pay for all seats. So you either hook up with others or it gets very expensive. It’s 225/seat and 117 for each empty seat. It’s a gas powered boat, so it is loud, but honestly the views are magnificent. The trip takes an hour or so. I recommend being in the front seats for the best views. From the dock, you can easily walk to the Xingping old town.

In the afternoon of Guilin in September, it was still a little hot. I couldnt go out to play in the hotel, listen to a tea ceremony, and taste a pot of Pu'er.
