My biggest mistake of this trip to Yamagata is to book this hotel. It's a good hotel but it's in the middle of nowhere. You will want to stay around the city of Yamagata province which is also called Yamagata city just so you can get to famous tourist spots. However this is 4 hours away from all of these. I had to book another hotel so I can stay 1 day in the city when I wanted to visit these places and the traveling time just completely made me exhausted. It took like 1 day to go to a place and 1 day to go back. It was so terrible, I was crying. This place is closed to Shonai airport not Yamagata airport so I also had to book another flight from Shonai. I wasted so much money for transportation. It was such a terrible experience.
However the hotel is incredibly beautiful with smart design in everything. I loved the onsen very much. If it was just a vacation/restcation for relaxing purpose or isolate yourself from the human word, it's the best choice for you. Since its in the middle of the endless rice field, there is nothing to eat except for paying very high price to eat at the hotel's restaurant. And the food was just okay.
The beauty of this hotel was like a trap. Its like I was blind from its beauty and couldn't see all other disavantages.
Excellent location, just a short distance from the station & right in front of the expressbus bus stop from Sendai. Clean & comfortable environment. I like it that the TV has chromecast function which make casting from devices so easy. Overall good experience. Will defintely be back if i ever visit Yamagata again!
Beautiful hotel, pleasant scenery, delicious food
The hotel staff are also very polite. I personally like hot spring hotels very much, but this hot spring hotel is also one of the best among those I have stayed in.
First of all, it's right in front of Sakata Station, so it's easily accessible from Shonai Airport. I took a bus from the airport to Sakata Station, and was surprised to find that the bus stop was right in front of Tsuki no Hotel! I booked a corner twin room this time, and the room was very comfortable and had a relaxing atmosphere. I also had breakfast at the hotel, which was delicious with a wide variety of options. I had fun spending time in the same building before checking in. The library was very spacious and there was a tourist information center as well. Overall, I was very satisfied. I would definitely like to stay here again when I go to Sakata.
Hotel is on the West Exit (bus to Zao/Sendai is on the East Exit) but is less than 10 minutes walk and feels more quiet. Rooms were good size and there were free drinks and ice cream in the lobby from the afternoon.
There is a 24 hour supermarket behind the hotel, only negative is, there is no proper crossing in front of the hotel.
We took the JR from Ueno to Oishida Station, and there was a shuttle bus from the inn staff to pick us up right out of the gate, which was super good.
Go to the hot spring lobby, at 2 pm, but check-in and pick up the room to 3 pm, so I ground outside the inn, see what to eat, 5 minutes walk will walk to the spot of the photo spot. It was super beautiful, plus it was snowing, just right.
There are only 2 shops with food at the photo spot, one is super crowded, the other doesn't open until 3:30 pm, so it's best to eat something before going.
Picked up the room at 3, super large and super comfortable, daily necessities, toothpaste toothbrush towel, shampoo shower gel. The room window view is super beautiful.
The inn is a one-night-two, dinner super super rich kaiseki cuisine, all the food is very aesthetic and delicious. Breakfast is nine-bar snacks, and there are other buffets of food and drinks, as you wish.
Inn and outlying areas, there are no shops for supper and no cup noodles snacks. It is recommended that people who want to eat supper should bring their own cup noodles 🤣
I was afraid of crowds of people taking a hot spring bath at night, so I went to take a dip at 6:30 in the morning. No one~right. The hot springs are separate areas for men and women. To whole plant, not allowed to wear clothes to soak.
This time I went to a hot spring in the snow. It was the first time. It felt super nice and the environment was super beautiful😍
Silver Mountain Hot Spring, really worth going, super beautiful environment, hostel service and rooms, food, everything to extremely good 👍👍
Located in a quiet neighborhood, staff is friendly and helpful. Limited parking space surrounding the hotel, but they got you covered, just check with the staff and they will sort it out for you.
Accommodation comes with free breakfast, and it's really amazing, you will be surprised by the varieties they served.
The hotel is generally good.
However, there is one thing that annoys me a bit. I chose the meal-included package and saw on other platforms that the meal offered was beef kaiseki. But I still chose to book through the Ctrip platform. The day I arrived, I asked the reception what dinner was and I was told it was pork shabu-shabu. I asked if I could change to beef kaiseki for an additional fee and the front desk told me it was not possible. When I entered the restaurant during the meal, I saw that everyone except our table was eating beef kaiseki.
So, is this discrimination or a platform problem?
This hotel is not expensive, did not hold too much expectations, as a result, the room is larger than expected, with a hot spring soak, and includes breakfast, the lobby has hot water, ice machine, the point! ! There are different pillows for you to choose from! ! First time I saw a hotel put all the pillows in the lobby to choose from, there is free parking, but too late to come back will have no place to park, next door is AEON, super convenient, highly recommended!
Room was really as per picture. The view was great with the striped windows. Quite spacious, able to accomodate up to 2 suitcases opened.
Location is also great as it's directly connected to the JR Yamagata station & S-PAL beside. You will be able to walk to the south tower through the internal passage way. Overall would recommend - really worth the price point, was comfortable and had everything we need for our stay.

ZZoeAbsolutely lovely place. At first I thought I'd be uncomfortable with how spaceous the room was (I'm a very jumpy solo traveller), but the room was just so comfy with an excellent view. The heater was a bit hot, but there was an electric fan too, so all was great.
The hotel allows you to have a free 50 minute private bath each night, and the private baths are amazing, able to accommodate up to five persons and with windows to let in the light and stuff. Excellent onsen water -- very acidic and very hot. Takes some time getting used to the heat, but once you do it's a heavenly experience. There are also public baths (free of charge) that you could enjoy throughout the night and into early morning (they're closed for cleaning only during 9-12 in the morning), one indoor and one outdoor, both connected to one another. The outdoor one is a bit small, but it's so refreshing to be able to flee from the stifling indoor onsen to enjoy the crisp winter air while soaking up in the heat.
TTeoGeraldA wonderful place to stay in. The service was fantastic. The room was huge, much too large for just a solo traveler like me but it would have been perfect if I had brought my wife and child along. The onsen quality was great, albeit the fittings at the shower area were a bit old. The food was hands down amazing and featured great local produce. Honestly there was too much for one person to finish! What I especially liked was that they had a separate room on the first floor where if it was too early for you to check in, you could drop your luggage off, change, and then grab your gear and head to the slopes. Same thing if you intend to charge the slopes a bit more on your last day, just leave your stuff in the storage room, hit the slopes, come back and change out, hit the onsen for the last time, then go off. Definitely recommending this place to my friends visiting Zao.
AAnonymous UserWhen I made the reservation, there were only a few rooms left. I sent an email to the hotel to ask if it was possible to accommodate three people in a room, as I wanted to add more people, but the hotel did not respond. Later, when I arrived at the hotel, I had to ask my friend to book a hotel nearby. Because the location is very remote and we arrived late, the room we bought included dinner, but the hotel was unwilling to give it to an extra friend to dine together. They were also very strict. Even if we wanted to pay, they were unwilling to give us an extra seat to dine together. They even wanted to kick our friends out. When we asked our friends to stay in the room, someone would come to the room and knock on the door to kick us out. The experience on the first day was not very good. We are very polite guests and we don't make noise or disturb other guests, but it is hard to understand how the hotel treats guests. Still keep saying だめだめだめ

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the JR station and there is a 24-hour supermarket behind it, which is very convenient. Because it was sold out, I chose a smoking room. Even with the air purifier on, the smoke smell in the room could not be completely eliminated, but it did not affect the quality of sleep. The artificial hot spring is very comfortable.
RRosina KimIt’s quite a big hotel, 3 buildings are connected and there are many rooms. The rooms are a bit outdated but still maintained well. Service was good and flexible. Transportation to the village is quite necessary when the roads are covered by snow, especially with luggage. They have free shuttle bus which is great.
Best parts: 1. Dinner semi-buffet has unlimited alcoholic beverages including local sake, draft beer and wines. 2. Ski & board rental shop is right outside of the hotel. Although hotel only accept cash for the lift ticket, you can rent the gear (rental shop accepts credit card) and ski down the hill (20sec) to the cable ticket counter to buy ticket, pay by credit card. The location has lifts 5,6 and cable 4
SshawndaikiCharming onsen hotel located 5 min drive from Kaminoyama station. A shuttle pick up can be arranged with the hotel ahead of time available from 1430-1800.
It’s a relatively dated property but well maintained. A small public onsen with a rotenburo, and a small private onsen within the room comfortable for two. The spring water through the property is the same.
Meals provided are extensive, balanced and nutritious featuring local specialities like yam, Yamagata and Yonezawa beef.
Drinks are offered at the lounge in the afternoon from 1700, morning coffee and tea available from 0800.
Overall a comfortable and luxurious stay.

WWing YanHotel service is really good! ! ! ! Suddenly it snowed that day and JR was out of service. I was3-4 hours later than expected, and I arrived at the JR station at 12 o'clock in the evening. As a result, the hotel reserved dinner for 6 of us, and waited for me at the JR station to send me by shuttle bus! ! ! ! When I arrived at the hotel for dinner, the rice was cooked per person, the rice and roast meat were hot, and the dessert was still in the refrigerator. It really surprised me! I highly recommend this hotel!
The service at the hotel is really great!!!! That day, JR was suspended due to a sudden snowstorm, and it was near 12 o'clock that I arrived at JR station 3 ~ 4 hours later than scheduled. As a result, the hotel booked dinner for 6 of us and waited at the JR station before taking us to the shuttle bus! It's hot and the dessert is still in the refrigerator. It was a really nice surprise! Highly recommend this hotel!
