Hangzhou East Railway Station is the city's largest and busiest! Opened in 2013 and renovated in 2022, it spans over 400,000 m² and handles nearly 100 million passengers every year. Its spectacular architecture, inspired by the waves of the Qiantang River, makes it one of the most impressive stations in China.
With its dozens of platforms and hundreds of daily departures to Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, or Wuhan, it handles almost all G and D trains departing from Hangzhou. This is where you’ll be heading 90% of the time!

How to book your tickets?
For this station or any others in Hangzhou, you have three options:

Hangzhou West Railway Station - 杭州西站

Opened in September 2022, Hangzhou West Railway Station is the latest addition to the city's major transport hubs, and it's already one of the most impressive in China. Designed to resemble a wooded mountain, its bioclimatic architecture and integrated green spaces make it a true architectural landmark.
It specialises in high-speed trains heading west and south-west across China, with direct connections to Chengdu, Xi'an, Kunming, Zhengzhou, and even Guiyang. Since January 2024, it has also been serving Guangzhou.

Inaugurated in 1999 and renovated several times, Hangzhou Railway Station is the city's historic hub. Located in the Gongshu District, it's much closer to the city centre than the East Station and still serves numerous conventional train lines (T and K series).
