🌤️ Best Time to Go to Phuket by Season

🌞 Dry season (from December to March)

During this period, the weather conditions are excellent: the north-east monsoon brings dry air, abundant sunshine, clear waters with annual peaks in visibility, and very little rain. It’s the peak tourist season, perfect for enjoying the beaches and water-based activities.

✅ Pros:

Clear skies and the perfect temperature for catching some sun.

The sea is crystal clear, perfect for spotting fish.

All boat excursions are available.
❌ Cons:

Higher prices for flights and hotels.

The main beaches get pretty crowded.

Some tourist areas can be a bit noisy.

🎯 Recommended activity Diving and snorkelling: Head to the Similan Islands (open until May) for an incredible underwater world.

Similan Islands

🎯 Recommended activity Cruise and beach: Treat yourself to a day trip to Kata Beach or Patong Beach for sunbathing and swimming.

Kata Beach

💡 Top tip: Book your accommodation in advance and make sure to protect yourself from the sun. Temperatures can climb between 30 and 32 degrees, even by the sea.

🌧️ Rainy season (from May to October)

This is the rainiest time of the year. The south-west monsoon brings showers that can be heavy, but are generally brief and occur in the afternoon. The landscape becomes lush and green, crowds are few and far between, and prices become more affordable.

✅ Pros:

Fewer tourists, and the beaches are lovely and quiet.

Hotel and flight prices are looking really great right now.

Perfect for nature lovers.
❌ Cons:

Rain can put a dampener on any outdoor activity.

The sea can be a bit rough, so some excursions may be cancelled.

The diving isn't as clear as it is during the dry season.

🎯 Recommended activity Hiking and waterfalls: Explore Sirinat National Park or Bang Pae Waterfalls, which are beautiful after the rain.

Sirinat National Park

🎯 Recommended activity Discover the culture: Visit Phuket Town and its unique architecture, or head to the weekend market.

Old Phuket Town, Phuket

💡 Top tip: Always keep a raincoat in your bag and check the weather forecast before heading out on boat trips.

☀️ Shoulder Season (April and November)

April and November are transitional months. April is generally very hot and humid. November is sunny, but can be slightly cloudy and rainy. It's a great option if you're looking to avoid the crowds.

✅ Pros:

Still some lovely weather before the monsoon hits.

Fewer tourists than during the peak months.

Great deals on selected flights.
❌ Cons:

Intense heat, sometimes soaring above 33 degrees.

High humidity in the air, especially in the afternoon.

The sea can sometimes be a little choppy.

🎯 Recommended activity Surfing: The first waves are arriving, especially at Karon Beach – ideal for beginners.

Karon Beach

🎯 Recommended activity Urban stroll: Enjoy exploring Phuket's Old Town in the morning, with its colourful facades.

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket

💡 Top tip: Remember to pack a water bottle and a hat, and try to avoid heading out between 12 pm and 3 pm, as the air can get very heavy during those hours.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were courteous, the property was clean, and everything else met my expectations. The only downside was that the rooms were quite compact. One suggestion for improvement would be to have a designated smoking area on every floor. Currently, the smoking areas are only on the rooftop and the ground floor. Since my room was located far from the lift, it became a bit inconvenient to travel up or down every time. Adding a smoking area on each floor would make the stay much more comfortable for guests who smoke.

I really loved this hotel; it's a classic Thai-style property. The breakfast was a bit simple, but the funicular ride up the hill was quite interesting. I'd definitely recommend the direct pool access rooms – they're very comfortable and offer sea views. I thought we'd miss the animal feeding due to our schedule, but one morning after breakfast, we went for a walk and the animals were already out. There weren't many people around, and they even gave us two bottles of milk to feed the piglets, which was adorable. The even bigger surprise was beachcombing after the tide went out. I'd suggest bringing a headlamp for safety. The beach was teeming with sea cucumbers, and we caught large crabs, small fish, pufferfish, and more. We released them all in the end, but it was a truly rewarding experience. The kids had a fantastic time, and I highly recommend it!

The WiFi is not working most of the time The elevator does not have any sensors and is very dangerous as it will directly impact the person entering the elevator and will not open the door automatically, you can only choose to squeeze into the elevator or squeeze out of the elevator in that second, Otherwise, it's good

The hotel service was excellent, and all the staff were incredibly warm and polite! The hotel environment was very comfortable and clean, exactly as I expected – no misleading photos here! The breakfast offered a great variety and was delicious too! A huge thank you to the hotel for arranging a birthday surprise for me, complete with a birthday cake 🎂 and a card, and they even decorated the bed thoughtfully! 🥰🥳🎊 This trip was truly unforgettable! 👍🏿👏🏿😁

This was my favorite hotel of the trip! The location is fantastic, right on Rawai Beach, and there are so many charming beachfront restaurants along the strip. My kids absolutely loved the pool and spent ages playing in it. It's also a great spot for taking photos!

Phuket Airport Phuket|14.68km from city centre
A nice little hotel for a rest after a long journey! I chose this hotel with my child so we could quickly get there after a long flight. Our plane landed at 11 PM. By the time you clear passport control, get picked up, and take a shower, it's already 1 AM. This is a good option! The linens are clean cotton! There's hot water! A 7-Eleven and massage place are a leisurely 7-minute walk away. They change the linens, towels, and water every day. We needed two days to recover, and extending our stay was easy. The pool is clean. Breakfast is European style: omelets, sausages, ham, some Thai dish (chicken in sauce), rice, toast, croissants, jams, butter, coffee, tea, cocktails, juices. It's a perfectly good breakfast. The cost is 250 (baht, presumably). Of course, if you're used to staying in luxury hotels and have high demands, you might want to think twice. I've stayed in various categories of hotels, from four-star resorts to beach bungalows. I've been to places where they didn't change the bed linen. Here, it's clean, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and lovely! Everyone is ready to help. Everyone always smiles. Many reviews mention drawbacks, but I won't even discuss those. It's clean, clean, clean, and the staff are as welcoming as can be. It's a good place to rest after traveling, get used to the local vibe a bit, and acclimatize to the warmth! All user photos of the hotel are accurate; I'll add a few more myself :)

Better late than never for this glowing review! I'd booked a standard room and was so grateful the hotel upgraded us to a family triple room. Before arriving, I'd left notes, sent an email, and even chatted with a Chinese-speaking front desk staff member on social media. They actually met all of my requests! They reserved an excellent room for us on a great floor with an amazing view. Thank you so much! All the staff members, from the butler to the front desk and housekeeping, were incredibly nice and had excellent service attitudes. The hotel environment is simply stunning – just look at the pictures! From the balcony, you can even see the sea in the distance. The room was spacious and had no musty smell! There was just a tiny bit of humidity in the bathroom, but it didn't bother us at all. The breakfast was fairly diverse, and the taste was decent. We ate it for two days, and it was the same each time, but there were no unpleasant surprises. The hotel is literally a two-minute walk to the beach – the location is absolutely fantastic. This hotel is definitely a top choice for families. It has multiple pools, a large waterslide, and a small kids' play area. Most guests here are families, which is great! Overall, a very satisfying and delightful stay!

If you're staying in the annex building, be careful of the long, steep slope. We saw a guest's luggage slide down from there and hit someone. Please make sure to store your personal belongings safely in your room. Other than that, everything else was good, and the pool was great. The room was spacious enough too. Just remember to run the bath water first to make sure there's no yellow discoloration.

I had a wonderful stay at Graceland Resort—I can’t be any happier. I arrived pretty late at night, and all I asked for was a nice, quiet room. The front desk lady Jenny at that time of night was incredibly considerate and sweet .She upgraded me to a pool room, and I truly appreciate that. Also, there was a lovely cleaning lady Kanyakorn who cleaned me room every day and was very attentive and pleasant , she let me borrowed the iron exceptionally longer period of time😅Overall, I felt taken care of and very welcomed. The service and hospitality were excellent. The breakfast was okay—I’d rate it about 6.7 out of 10—but the hotel itself is beautiful. It has a couple of pools and it’s right on the beach, with many restaurants around. Hotel got a small gym as well which is good enough for few days workout and oh yes they offer complimentary half an hour morning trainings as well which was nice . I also remember a v kind gesture from them i ordered late night food and they forgot to deliver to bring and on being reminded the food and beverage manager felt terribly sorry and wanted to send free meal next day which wasn’t needed for me so I declined politely but they were so sweet they still ended up sending a fruit platter to room.In all , with such great hospitality, I would definitely come back to the hotel. Customer service was awfully wonderful.

The room was clean and service was great. I was a bit surprised when the cleaner entered my room while I quickly came back from breakfast (I didn’t put up a cleaning sign), but she was very apologetic and handled it well. I booked 2 nights without breakfast and purchased a breakfast coupon during check-in, which saved me 100 baht. The location is the only downside which around 15–20 mins walk to Bangla Road and Patong Beach. However, there are good local food options about 10 mins away. The infinity pool is well maintained, with great cocktail happy hours. A perfect place to relax away from the busy nightlife. I would definitely come back to stay here again.

The service was excellent! I didn't encounter any discrimination as mentioned in previous reviews. From the front desk to every staff member we met, everyone was very enthusiastic, greeted us proactively, and offered help. The hotel pool was clean, and the room was spacious. The facilities were pretty basic, and the air conditioning was quite noisy, but strangely, I could still hear the frogs and birds chirping outside. We weren't staying directly above the pool but in an adjacent building, also overlooking the pool. It wasn't humid at all, and the balcony got sun after 3 PM, perfect for drying swimsuits. The hotel is probably more than a 10-minute walk from the beach; we took the hotel shuttle back and forth, as walking would feel more like 20 minutes. All in all, we had a great stay!

This time, I stayed at this hotel during my trip to Thailand. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and check-in was smooth. I had some anxieties about traveling abroad, but the staff's attentive service put me at ease and allowed me to relax. The room was clean and spacious enough for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable, and I was able to fully recover from my travel fatigue. The facilities were well-maintained, and I didn't experience any inconvenience during my several-day stay. The hotel's ambiance was wonderful, offering a true resort feel that really immersed me in the Thai experience. I particularly loved the stunning scenery and atmosphere around the hotel; it was a comforting space to return to. The location was also convenient, making it easy to go sightseeing, dine out, and get around the city. The staff were very helpful with transportation like taxis, which was reassuring for my first trip to Thailand. Overall, the hotel had a calm atmosphere, which I think makes it ideal for those looking to relax during their trip. The staff's smiles and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression, and I truly felt that staying here was a great choice. A significant part of what made this trip such a wonderful memory was the comfortable stay at this hotel. If I have the chance to visit Thailand again, I would definitely love to stay here once more. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It is OK place. The location is close to the beach, restaurants, shops and massage places. The rooms are average, a bit worn. TV did not work properly. The bed sheets were dirty with white stains. But they were quickly replaced when I complained. But still during my stay the fresh towels were stained every second day. So I would recommend to change them the laundry. Also during my stay I had a leak from the room above. I asked the reception to deal with the water my floor. They used one of my towels. I found this very inventive. The breakfast was average. At the end expect they will check your room, so come for the check out 15 min on advance of your taxi to the airport. The location is very convenient, close to the beach, restaurants, shops and massage places. The rooms are average and a little worn, and the TV in my room did not work properly. Unfortunately, cleanliness was an issue. The bed sheets were dirty and had white stains when I arrived. They were replaced quickly after I complained, but during my stay the fresh towels were also stained quite frequently, sometimes every second day. I would strongly recommend that the hotel review the quality of its laundry service. There was also a leak from the room above during my stay. I asked reception to deal with the water on my floor, and, rather inventively, they used one of my towels to clean it up. Breakfast was average. One practical point: when checking out, expect the staff to inspect your room before completing the checkout. If you have a taxi to the airport, I would recommend coming to reception at least 15 minutes earlier. Overall, the hotel is acceptable mainly because of its very good location, but cleanliness and maintenance could definitely be improved.
