The hotel is attractive and full of charm, with a pleasant aspect facing the church, however, the surrounding area of Bridgwater is rather run down.  Staff were very efficient and checked us in quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the restaurant as it was closed due to it being Father's Day. Our room was ok, and had a large bathroom with both shower and separate bath. There was plenty of hot water available, but aware that it was almost scalding when allowed to run without cold added. The bed was comfortable and the room well equipped with tea facilities, ironing board and iron and hair dryer. Due to the age of the building, there was a lot of noise from residents walking around in the rooms above ours, but it wasn't too obtrusive. Breakfast was very good with a choice of full English or continental and my gluten allergy was catered for.  If you  need to stay in Bridgwater, then I would recommend The Old Vicarage, but we would probably look in the villages further out of the town in future.

First stay here and will definitely return. 3rd stay at a Mercure brand hotel and cannot fault any! Bridgewater is a pleasant town with plenty of places to enjoy and pass the time. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are very nice with excellent air conditioning if you need it! Comfortable beds, all mod cons including Samsung TV, USB sockets by the beds, ambient lighting, storage well thought out, small fridge, room service, fabulous bathrooms with waterfall shower and lovely extras such as decent shower wash and hair wash, make up/shaving mirror with lighting. Very secure hotel with 24 hour reception and lift only operable with key cards. Didn't try the hotel restaurant but judging by the volume of people eating there I'd assume very good! Nothing to fault!

I hadn't received the text message about the door code - and Trip.com had stated check in until 8pm, whereas the sign on the door stated 6pm. Luckily, the door was answered - although it took time to confirm my booking - otherwise I may have been entirely stuck. My bedside lamp wasn't working, although this was immediately replaced by the very helpful gentleman on duty. Comfortable bed, separate shared toilet and separate shared shower. Price was £46 for one night: would have been happier paying around £35 given the facilities on offer.

Model Farm is a country house consisting of an impressive Victorian front to a 17th century farmhouse and cider barn. The accommodation is all in one house, sleeping up to 27 in 11 bedrooms, 6 en-suite with 4 bathrooms. The Victorian area retains many of the original features, high ceilings with impressive cornicing, original fireplaces and stained glass windows. There are two large lounges, a dinning room and a new kitchen leading onto our Orangery function room, which can be used for dining, dancing or functions. There is also an additional kitchen/diner in the Cider Barn with table football table and just outside a large covered loggia with BBQ area suitable for outside dining.Outside there is a log fired Scandinavian style Hot Tub seating 8 people, a 25m swimming pond, an outside kitchen next to our log burning pizza oven and several patio areas, with plenty of seating throughout the grounds. There are 4 acres of glorious gardens with large selection of different plants designed around being wildlife friendly, you will find plants of interest throughout all the seasons of the year. We also have a croquet lawn, football area, lots of outdoor games and ample off road parking.We tend to specialise in large groups for the weekend normally for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday and you don't need to leave until Sunday afternoon if you wish. This is around 2/3 the price of a weeks stay. A 3 night stay or mid-week stay is also available. We are happy for all types of group to stay apart from very young adults and stag parties. We will also consider up to 3 dogs per group.We have ample car parking and a free to use electric car charger, or it is a fairly short taxi ride from Bridgwater station. Model Farm is situated in the hamlet of Perry Green only 8 minutes by car from Bridgwater, yet in the peace and quiet of the country. Junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are only 5 miles away. The Quantock Hills are a short drive away and there are plenty of footpaths in the area with some excellent walking where you can visit the many pubs in the local area for a great lunch or dinner.
