Lovely hotel set in deep undergrowth adjacent to the river. You have to walk to the hotel from the station as there are no roads to it. The rooms are set in bungalows that are spaced out around the grounds, your bags will be taken to your rooms. There are many walks around the grounds for you to enjoy. The room was spacious and the bathroom small, albeit both were well maintained and spotless. The bed was large and very comfortable with nice linen. The bathroom was all marble, small but adequate with a nice shower. Breakfast was vast and had a lot of choice, set in lovely surroundings above the gushing river. The staff here were friendly and helpful, I feel this will be the best hotel if staying in the village and you are visiting Machu Pichu. It provides a lovely stay.

Amazing scenery, amazing amenities, amazing services and amazing staff. One of my top hotel stays. Jorge at the restaurant was absolutely fantastic. We got massages as well and they rank among the best we’ve ever had. Truly amazing. Highly recommend.

Had two rooms for two nights. Great location (away from the crowds but close to the action) with lots of character. Solid food and service. Not a fan of outside tour groups occupying the restaurants (noise and congestion), but I get it. Privacy is a bit of an issue given the proximity of the walkways to the guestroom windows. Given it's situated in a rainforest, with lots of moisture/humidity, some spaces smell a little musty (like lobby area) and could do with additional cleaning/maintenance. Overall, a compelling place.

Due to medical reasons we were unable to go to Peru so we cancelled our reservation. We requested this cancellation 10 months prior to the reservation date. It has now been four months and we have not received a refund. We have sent multiple emails for updates. The standard reply is that their financial institution is working on it. Our last request has not even been responded to. This has become so frustrating and time consuming. We would not recommend booking at this hotel if there’s any chance that you may need to cancel your reservation.

Maybe my rating of 3 is unfair but I’m not sure. The hotel is very nice and exactly as we hoped. The stand out option in the village for sure. So why score of 3? The first day I had breakfast and within 30 minutes of finishing breakfast had violent stomach issues which lasted a couple of hours. Up to that point we had spent 7 days in Peru including 5 days at the Amazon jungle with no issues whatsoever. On day 2 we were visiting Machu Picchu early that morning and after the previous days upset decided not to have breakfast to avoid any risk of problems knowing how the toilet situation was at the Machu Pichhu site. On our last day we had breakfast but went really early in case of problems they would hopefully clear before our train journey. And as with day 1 within 30 minutes I once again had violent stomach problems. During our stay we also had two dinners and a lunch at the hotel with no issue which made it more puzzling. It seems too coincidental but then no other reviews mention similar issues so am at a loss to explain. But that is only reason for marking as 3.

I wish we could have enjoyed this hotel more! Such a beautiful hotel and area. The staff were very friendly in helping us get checked in. I love that they wait at the train station for you to collect your luggage if you want to go straight to Machu Picchu. They will even deliver your luggage to the train station on your way out.

While in Peru in March, my wife and I stayed at four different Inkaterra hotels. All were excellent, except for Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo. My displeasure with MP Pueblo was a result of what I considered the lack of service from the front desk, especially Joaquin. I went to the front desk and asked if we could check out an hour later. I was told I would need to come back in the evening. I came back in the evening as suggested and asked again about late check out. Joaquin, who was not pleasant when we checked in nor when I asked about late check out, responded you'll have to check later. He then said he call us and let us know, which he never did. I then asked Joaquin if I could get change for a 100 peso note so I could leave a gratuity for housekeeping. He told me that he did not have enough change. Other than this, what I fell, was a lack of service, our stay at MP Pueblo was excellent, including the room, the grounds, and the service of the rest of staff.
