Nice hotel, although no elevator, which is apparently the norm for this area.. Excellent location with tons of bars, restaurants and nightlife in the immediate vicinity. Receptionist Claudia was super nice and helpful. All in all great value and an extremely pleasant experience..

We loved this hotel- it's good value and is very clean, comfortable with good facilities in an excellent central location, surrounded by lots of bars/restaurants. Friendly, efficient staff, good common area with free tea and coffee. You can get lots of exercise with the stairs too!

Rooms are box standard but manageable it be a good idea to put some hooks on the walls for clothes as there’s nothing to hang them on. Our room had no TV even though it was advertised with one. If you’re expecting no noise through the night good luck. As it won’t calm down outside till 5am then cleaning starts around 8am. Great location for food, drink & entertainment, all the staff are nice and helpful. If you don’t like very steep stairs don’t come here as it’s like climbing Mount Everest to get to the top floors.

Hotel is in a great location. Room is very small for 3 beds, there’s very little room to leave your bags in the room and move around. The shared bathroom was kept clean but a lot of mould because no extractor for the shower. They also require €150 in cash security deposit that we weren’t told about before getting there.

Rembrandt square hotel is a great low budget place to stay. Located in a lively area of Amsterdam with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, and for smokers there is a coffee shop right underneath. Me and a mate booked a double room it came with two single beds, a tap, tv and an aircon unit. Room was clean as were the beds and two shared bathrooms on each floor. If you're simply looking for a bed to crash for a few days then this place is perfect.

Great location! Up north are the busy streets of Amsterdam central and down south are some quieter and beautiful streets and parks to explore. And right in the middle of Rembrandt Square with various awesome restaurants, coffee shops and clubs. You won't have to go far from your hotel to enjoy Amsterdam! Staff are always available and friendly, excellent service. Great coffee/tea facilities with a fridge as well. SUPER COMFY BED! You won't want to get out of bed in the morning, that's how comfortable they are!

If you like your hotels baking hot like the sun, with rubbish never cleaned in the doorway, then this is the place for you. Having read previous reviews I thought that it may not be the best, but it was even worse than I thought. Reception staff seemed stuck to their seats, probably due to the fact there was aircon in reception, no where else in the building had this luxury. Maybe if they had moved more than a foot away from their desk they may have seen the rubbish accumulating at the entrance area. The views from the room were spectacular, you could really see the beauty of the place looking out of the window, we saw broken chairs on the roof below us, alongside bottles of what I can only assume were the tears of the last inmates made to stay here. It was almost as if housekeeping had thought, well I could put it in the bin, but would be easier if I throw everything out of the window instead. Amsterdam was a lovely place to visit, but, unless you really really dislike the person you are booking the room for, do not under any circumstances book into this place.

Avoid this hotel, it is the worst I have stayed at ever. There is a nightclub at street level that is open till 5 in the morning- so unless you are partying yourself it is impossible to sleep. It is above a coffeshop so the smell is pertinent…
