Perfect location, pleasant staff, good cleaning, very limited parking, although you can park in the Pyrenees stores with discount

Subtitle: (A Face Like...) Thunder In The Mountains!!! Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. Some positives; the roof swimming pool right under the mountains was really vibey and atmospheric; the wonderfully changeable weather (with lots of sun but briefly interspersed with mountain thunder storms and monsoon like rain which I LOVED!), the lovely reception lady who was there some days and the regular bar gentleman couldn't have been more helpful; and the general feel and furnishing was charmingly old fashioned, quaint and classic. The negatives; the young male receptionist who radiated unfriendliness and did not crack a single smile on the several occasions we interacted (truly the most unwelcoming hotel staff member we have ever encountered; hence my feeble attempt at a witty subtitle!); the key card system needs replacing - almost every key we went through lost its magnetism within hours and had to be recalibrated; and the restaurant, called the 1940 Restaurant, didn't open until 20.30! (Not that culturally unusual, I admit, in Spain/Andorra, but more unusual for a HOTEL restaurant.) So, all in all, not bad but could do better!

The hotel is close to the bus stop and about 15-20 minutes from the city center. The hotel staff service is very good, the room is simple but the WiFi is good, there is heating.

The hotel is a very friendly staff, and I will return to my next trip, whether for work like this or for leisure, I have been looking for more Andorra.

Bed not very comfortable. We stayed for 2 days, and they only made our bed, they did not empty the trash cans. The TV did not connect well to DTT, we sent an email to the owner and did not receive any response. The room is very small, steps around the bed are very tight. The heating could not be regulated. The fireplace could not be used in the common area. The worst thing is the noise you hear, you can hear it from the adjoining rooms. And from time to time it must be the boiler or similar that must be turned on and heard through a column in the room, it lasts about 5 minutes every half hour in the morning and every 2 hours at night. It doesn't mean you can rest.

Hotel Aston is located in the centre of Andorra La Vella and within 10 minutes’ walk of the city’s tax-free shopping centres. There is a 24-hour front desk. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property. Rooms at Hotel Aston have air conditioning and heating. Each room has a TV, telephone, and a private bathroom with a bath. The hotel’s café-bar is open from 8am to 11pm (to 1am during the summer) with kitchen so guest can enjoy a nice breakfast, snacking before and after your plans and or a beer facing the sun. To endulge the food we offer Italian cuisine at La Carbonara Restaurant based at 1st floor of the Hotel. The Hotel Aston is just a 10-minute walk from the Caldea Spa. The hotel is 9 km away from the Grandvalira Ski Resort and a 15-minute drive from the Vallnord Ski Runs. Palau de Gel is located 10 minutes away and the adventure park of Naturlandia is 20 minutes away.

Just next to the iconic Andorra building, the starting point of the standard city center and pedestrian street - ”twisted clock”, the two people book a room with a terrace is very emotional, and one person doesn't matter. The room is quite big. Breakfast is good, there are several kinds of fried eggs to choose by yourself, If you don't understand, say the first one, change every day. The front desk is very welcoming, Europeans are like this. The room has an electric kettle. Below the clock is the unnamed river, the river is endless, the cherry blossom season is very beautiful, and it is like Dongguan. It takes ten minutes to walk to the famous hot springs and the iconic Andorra building.

During this special period, an elderly female manager at the front desk of the hotel was very warm and friendly. She was very patient in introducing the hotel and various expenses. The hotel provides an underground parking garage for 17 euros a night. The elevator can go directly to the room, which is very convenient. The room is also very large, enough for a family of three, breakfast is also rich, ski season, the hotel’s occupancy rate is very high, there are more guests, so the breakfast restaurant is also full; then, the room soundproofing is a bit poor, the corridor Foreigners are a bit noisy, others are very good, there is a swimming pool, the room temperature is colder, there is a sauna, the location is also good, very close to the shopping street, itself is not big in Andorra, there are many restaurants and shops around, a good experience

Reception: Majority of staff were mostly courteous, however did not always greet upon arrival and did not always acknowledge you while you waited. Room / facilities: Room number 417 is on the 4 floor and is clean. It overlooks the city and has a road and views of the flowing from your balcony. The self control air conditioning is somewhat confusing to operate, but did the job. The room had a balcony with a door that opens fully enabling guests to go outside. The room has a bar fridge, safe, older style flat screen tv, euro style memory foam pillows, (that i found terrible and left me nursing a migraine after the first night). Queen bed, sofa bed, table and chair, hanging area and luggage shelf. The bathroom had a shower/ tub combo with a multi purpose shower head. Day 2, the 168 kids arrived and the noise escalated from a tranquil setting to a wild playground. Kids played in the hall, yelling screaming, opening and then slamming their and friends room doors, knocking on unknown doors and running (mine). Some kids were polite to apologise when they realised they had the incorrect room. Reception were requested to intervene at least 7 times (face to face and via the phone), however this only sometimes restored the peace for a short period. The student teachers/ supervisors were nowhere to be found to settle the children. Not an ideal situation to be in for a relaxing stay. Parking: is available at an additional cost of €21 (at the time of my stay). The car park is very tight to maneuver around. Wifi: Complementary and good speed password required, this did slow dramatically once the 168 kids arrived to the hotel and were using their devices. Conclusion: Excellent position. River views Comfortable rooms. Right in the center of town. Letdowns: Kids permitted to stay and guests not provided this information upon checkin. Adult guests could have been allocated other separate floors and the children on other exclusive floors. Location / Nearby: Centre of the city and all its offerings. Letdowns Rushing water noise can be a bit much for some. Hotel not advising guests of the imminent arrival of 168 children and the accompanying noise. Getting to hotel: Best use GPS. Be aware of the last roundabout prior to the hotel and the 5th exit that goes down just to the right of the main road/bridge. its very easy to miss. The hotel name and parking signs are only visible when your 5 meters from the property. If arriving into Barcelona airport and drive to Andorra, do yourself a favour and turn off “tolls” on the GPS, the drive has spectacular scenery, and is only marginally longer and you will save €30+ in tolls.

Parking is located on an indoor ramp next to the hotel, they validated for 21 Euro. Room: Spacious Bed was firm Old flat pillows Kettle for tea or coffee in room. Cups for room water/hot beverages were throw-away cups not ceramic. The shower had no shelf, I despise placing my items on the bathroom shower floor. There was a hotel shampoo bottle mounted to the wall, but in the bathtub area, none in the shower which is across the room. Breakfast: Opened at 07:30 The man who was working at breakfast was kind and friendly, nice seating area, those are the only positives... All processed food, low quality. They spent time arranging the food to be visually appealing, but it was very disappointing. One example is that they had an egg/tort item that was defrosted (?)/ internally cold and had an off-putting texture like something that was freezer burned. You could hear other people's TV far too very early in the morning. Room temperature was 25c/77f degrees, not possible to cool it off more for sleeping. The temperature was nice outside but the window did not open fully and no breeze. Strong perfume scent/ fragrance used in common areas was off-putting.
