Fairfield by Marriott Kumamoto Aso ★★★
"Great stay overall. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well located, with friendly and helpful staff. The room had everything I needed and was well maintained throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were easy, and I had no major issues during my visit. I would happily stay here again."
Aso Base Backpackers ★★
"I heard that Aso Base Backpackers(ABB) is good. I think it was wrong. ABB is excellent! It offers - wonderful view of Aso - easy access to shops, mountains, and public transportation - convenient facilities - clean facilities"
Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park Resort ★★★
"This is an excellent resort, perfect for those who love nature and hot springs. You could easily spend a few days here."
KAMENOI HOTEL ASO ★★★★
"The staff are friendly, public bath is good with free popsicle. Room is decent in size. View is good can see mt aso"
Yumeoi-so ★★★★
"The hotel is a little dated, but the private bath in the own room and also outside in the public area are quite clean. The dinner buffet was great as you can do your own barbecue. The breakfast buffet was amazing too. We like that it has the self service Yukata shelves as we can pick our own clothing colour style."
Hotel Suncrown Oaso ★★
"Room was spacious but the bathroom was awkwardly small. There is NO hair conditioner in the bathroom. The fridge was so cold that the milk froze! The mattress and pillow were so comfy, soft, and firm at the time. We slept very well and didn’t want to leave the bed!"
Kosugi Resort Lodge ★★★
"The rooms were spacious and offered fantastic mountain views. The bathtubs were large enough to stretch out in, which was great. A refrigerator was also provided. The only downside is that the reception is located near the golf course and is difficult to find. The building where you stay is quite high up in the mountains. Allow about 15 minutes for the check-in process. However, the view is excellent, offering stunning mountain scenery. There aren't many lights at night, so it's best to arrive early. There was a bench with lights on below, which created a nice atmosphere. Also, as a note of caution, most restaurants on the nearby main street were closed by 7 PM, so we bought our bento boxes from Hirai. If you're planning on having dinner, early check-in is recommended."
Sozankyo ★★★★
"One of the best onsen hotels we have ever stayed at. The room was spacious, featuring three basins and two restrooms—plenty of space for three adults. The hotel is surrounded by trees and flowers, creating a beautiful and peaceful environment. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with many options to choose from. We were so happy with our stay at this hotel!"
Aso Gogaku Hotel ★★★
"Like the onsen in the hotel; onsen water is good and big enough for 6-7 person to use. Japanese breakfast served by staff was quite substantial and tasty. The room that we stayed is quiet and faces mountain and park. Bathroom a little small but clean. There wasn’t any wardrobe but there were hooks on the wall and hangers were provided."

AsoTsuruya
"This place feels like stepping into a simple Japanese home. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the lighting at night creates a romantic atmosphere. In the morning, opening the door reveals a beautiful sunrise. The spacious courtyard can park four to five cars, making it perfect for couples or families."
Minshuku Asogen
"Most things at Minshuku Asogen were fine, but the shower water made my hair extremely sticky — almost like it was coated with something. It became tangled and rough, and I even experienced hair fall. This one issue really made my whole experience bad."
Syukubo Aso
"To combine our trip with visits to Aso Kadori Zoo and Mount Aso, and to avoid a long drive early in the morning, we decided to stay overnight in Aso. It's a 2-minute drive from the zoo and a 20-minute drive from the volcano. We were fortunate enough to participate in the zoo's bear-cuddling activity. The hotel's parking lot was full, so we parked in the second parking area, about a 5-minute walk away. It's recommended to drop off your luggage at the hotel before parking, as the cobblestone streets and slight slopes make it difficult to push luggage around. The hotel has a distinctly Japanese feel, with a charming courtyard and fireplace outside. Note that the rooms do not have bathrooms; the bathroom mentioned in the booking information refers to the toilet. The same situation occurred in Yufuin. Therefore, showering is combined with bathing in the onsen (hot spring), and you need to book your private onsen time in advance with the front desk. It's free. Walking around is a little inconvenient, but there's not much to do in the evening, so it's perfect for those who enjoy soaking in the onsen. The hotel includes one night's stay with two meals. The service was excellent, and the young part-time staff were very attentive and tried their best to communicate with guests in English. Dinner was incredibly plentiful and delicious. Breakfast was also a feast. I tried horse meat sashimi for the first time here, and it was quite good. Aso Hostel offers excellent value for money; highly recommended!"
Aso Plaza Hotel
"Nice breakfast and dinner, good hotspring.friendly and helpful staff."
Takanosho
"I stayed at Takanosgo first time with my family. The room was very clean and pretty big. I really liked a private Onsen in the room. We had a Japanese Kaiseki for dinner, and it was delicious. Staffs are very friendly, so I am satisfied. We will come back for sure. Highly recommended."
Yunoyado Irifune
"The environment is very quiet and elegant. I feel very relaxed when I step into the hotel. The food is very delicious. The service attitude of every employee is from the heart! It is totally recommended! I will definitely come again if I have the chance! "
Daikansou
"I booked a stay that included breakfast. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, explaining everything thoroughly when I had questions, which made my stay very smooth. The bedding was super cozy and plush. After a relaxing hot spring bath, I enjoyed a warm cup of tea using the in-room tea bags and kettle, then had a wonderful night's sleep in the comfortable futon. Breakfast was a delicious Japanese-style home-cooked meal. They even knocked on my door to let me know when breakfast was ready. The lounge facilities, including the smoking room and manga collection on the second floor, were also a great bonus."
Gentou - Vacation Stay 28719V
"Perfect house. The views were amazing, it was spacious, the check-in process was easy. 10/10."
Aso No Shiki
"Except for the slightly inferior location, the service, scenery, meals, and hot springs are all the ultimate enjoyment! You can see Mount Aso from your room. After enjoying breakfast, they also provided us with hot rice balls before traveling. The self-paid dinner costs 6,600 yen per person. It may seem like a small amount, but it is so filling that we will be our first choice for accommodation next time we travel to Aso! Thanks to Tiantian for helping to call a taxi (Go is completely unavailable here) Thank you Tiantian for providing welcome snacks Thank you for your efforts in using translation software to communicate with us"
Sen-No-Mori
"I stayed on a family trip during the summer vacation. I couldn't catch it directly because it was in the woods and there were many beetles and quails coming, but the inn asked me to separate the individuals caught. The children were overjoyed. Thank you very much."
Meihodo Bunshinkan
"The hotel is opened by Chinese people, and they have good wishes. I hope it will get better and better. The best thing in the hotel is the horse and four dogs. The service is also good. It's OK. The network is good."
