Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park Resort ★★★
"Very good breakfast , nice stay and comfort bed Excellent snack and wine at evening Nice view from hotel"
Aso Base Backpackers ★★
"I heard that Aso Base Backpackers(ABB) is good. I think it was wrong. ABB is excellent! It offers - wonderful view of Aso - easy access to shops, mountains, and public transportation - convenient facilities - clean facilities"
Fairfield by Marriott Kumamoto Aso ★★★
"Exceed our expectations! The room is comfortable with nice bed. It is good value of money. Even though the hotel does not offer breakfast, it has a well equipped pantry with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for quests to enjoy complimentary coffee and self bring food. The staff speak good English and very helpful. Highly recommended!"
KAMENOI HOTEL ASO ★★★★
"It was a wonderful experience. The room was nice and it was a nice size and quite spacious for 2 luggages. Parking is free with lots of parking space . Knowing the hotel is remotely located, we included dinner & breakfast in our itinerary. It’s buffet style and was sumptuous and very well worth the extra paid. We booked the Kumamon themed room and loved our rooms The hot baths was also nice. It’s seperated into male and female baths. Check in and out was seamless. Overall a wonderful experience."
Aso Plaza Hotel ★★★★
"It's close to Mount Aso. If you book for more than one day, kaiseki is a good option for one of the days."
Kosugi Resort Lodge ★★★
"Really great place. It's located on a hill, so getting around without a car in this area would be difficult. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and has a wonderful view. The bathroom is fantastic. The only downside is the disposable tableware. I really wished there was at least one proper glass and plate."
Sozankyo ★★★★
"Nestled in the land of volcanoes, I was gently embraced by hot springs and local charm. Staying at Aso Uchinomaki Onsen Sozankyo was a journey where every detail was thoughtfully considered. The wooden interiors harmonized with the mountain views outside, and the warm waters of the onsen slowly revitalized my body and soul, returning me to this land born of volcanoes. The dinner was a refined conversation with the local culture. The 'Akaushi' (red beef) dishes were meticulously presented, complemented by seasonal ingredients and beautiful tableware. Each dish was a testament to time and the artisan's dedication. The flavors were subtle yet built up in layers, leaving a deep and lasting impression. A visit to Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine was like stepping into a poem, with light filtering through stone lanterns and the trees, creating a serene atmosphere. The vastness and wind at Kusasenri-ga-hama made me feel the essence of freedom, while the white smoke billowing from the Aso crater was the earth's most authentic breath. This wasn't just a trip; it was an experience meticulously crafted by nature and hospitality, allowing me to return to my purest, most radiant self."
Minshuku Asogen ★★
"The location is right by the roadside and easy to find. The room is a good size, but the pillows are a bit soft and not very comfortable to sleep in. The food is delicious, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly to families with children."
Aso Resort Grandvrio Hotel ★★★★
"Short drive from Mount Aso so was convenient after visiting the crater. The hotel is quite old with furnishing like the 1980s. The Indoor hot spring was just a small simple tub. Overall the stay was not very comfortable as the room and amenities are quite old."

"The service attitude is very good and the room is amazing"
Shinwaen
"Breakfast and dinner are both provided by the hotel. Dinner is served in a separate room, and breakfast is served in another public room. There is a unique menu for dinner, with staff introducing each dish. There happened to be a few people who knew Chinese when I checked in. The staff introduced it, the dishes were rich, and I was very satisfied. When you have a meal, the staff will go into the room and lay out tatami mattresses. There are no private hot spring baths, there are open-air public baths. There are only two independent indoor hot spring baths for the use of the entire hotel. There are two keys during the period. After the guests return the keys, they can then take them out and use the independent private baths. Fengli, unfortunately there is no reservation service, so I don’t know when other guests will return their keys. "
Syukubo Aso
"This hotel has a rich history, but it's not always booked, and the rooms aren't very large. It offers private hot spring baths. The package includes two meals a night, and the Japanese kaiseki cuisine is quite extensive. The experience would be even better if you visited in late autumn or winter."
Daikansou
"Highly recommended!"
Takanosho
"I stayed at Takanosgo first time with my family. The room was very clean and pretty big. I really liked a private Onsen in the room. We had a Japanese Kaiseki for dinner, and it was delicious. Staffs are very friendly, so I am satisfied. We will come back for sure. Highly recommended."
Asono Yamaboshi
"The facilities are old but very good. However, breakfast and dinner are disappointing. Especially, the dessert for dinner is only ice cream. It is not as described in the photo. In addition, one of the sauna facilities was broken and could not be used. This part needs to be adjusted. I will make a formal complaint to Trip.com."
Hotel Suncrown Oaso
"Overall clean, nice, spacious room and staff service is good and we the special pillows ‘True sleeper’. Only issue is that the room we stayed faces the main road and the windows are not sound-proofed. We could hear noises from vehicles driving passed in the night."
Yunoyado Irifune
"The environment is very quiet and elegant. I feel very relaxed when I step into the hotel. The food is very delicious. The service attitude of every employee is from the heart! It is totally recommended! I will definitely come again if I have the chance! "
Aso No Shiki
"Excellent meals and good facilities. I will choose this hotel again next time"
