Beihai Yinhai District Hotels

Had a really mixed stay at this Hotel. Only booked one night, with the option of extending, but decided against. My wife and I came on separated flight, with mine delayed over 5 hours. I arrived at 02:00 past midnight to check-in. First they the reception told me I’m in the wrong hotel. I had to proof my booking with them and the fact that my wife is already in the room. After some discussion they refused to check me in, but told me to call my wife to let me into the room. First, not checking in and registering a foreigner is against the law. Second, why should I wake up my sleeping wife at this late hours? After insisting on being checked in the process went fast and smoothly, which makes me wonder, why the discussions first? Room was spacious and clean. Nice view over the ocean. At the breakfast buffet we were greeted by hordes of waiters watching over a half empty buffet, at 09:30. Nearly no western food options and no cold cuts. After asking I was treated to a plate of two pieces of Camembert, hard cheese and some kind of milk cheese. Not the standard for a Sheraton breakfast. That’s also my final verdict. For this price and being a Sheraton Resort, it’s not up to the standards one would expect from a place with this name.

The hotel facilities are very new. After we arrived at the hotel, the waiter took the initiative to greet us and help with the luggage. On the way to send the luggage, the waiter told us that this hotel had just opened in December 24, the overall facilities were very new, and the fragrance was also very relaxing. The room decoration style is holiday style, and each room has a balcony facing the sea, with a very good view. In terms of supporting facilities, there is a 24-hour gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and an exclusive children's activity area, which is very complete. After checking in, German beer was also presented to have a drink with friends in the starry sky bar. There is a direct access to the beach in the hotel park, which is very convenient to go to Beihai Silver Beach. There is also a special faucet for sand flushing when returning to the park. The hotel has a rich breakfast selection. The service staff asked us enthusiastically if we needed coffee, and there were seasonal fruits and rice noodles with Guangxi characteristics. The overall evaluation of Beihai Marriott Resort is excellent, suitable for vacation and slow life, and I will consider staying again next time.

I stayed here with my girlfriend during the Chinese new year, and we loved it. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially the boy who helped with our luggage and the restaurant staff, such as Wang Xiaomei who welcomed us each morning. The hotel is very close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The only problem I had, as with all HI hotels I’ve stayed in recently, is that the pillows are uncomfortable and need replacing, and the duvet is far too thick for the warm weather in Beihai. Also, they advertised on Ctrip that they have air conditioning, but it doesn’t work. Overall, a good stay though thanks to the staff.

This price is very cost-effective for a seaside hotel. There is no pitfall. The location at the entrance of Silver Beach is great. You can go to Silver Beach to play after putting your luggage. The front desk told me that it is not far from the pier and Qiaogang. I went to Qiaogang to eat in the evening. It is very convenient and there are many delicious foods. The service is very good.

There are not many types of breakfast, but the rice noodles can be cooked freshly, and there are hot soy milk, large and small rice porridge. It costs 20 yuan per person, which is not bad.

A family of four booked a parent-child room for five days and four nights. The boss took the initiative to upgrade me to a room with a terrace. He kept the room clean and tidy. It's not far from Qiaogang Beach and mangroves to catch the sea. The breakfast is pretty good too.
