We stayed here on a Saturday night, last minute booking. The hotel is beautiful, it obviously was a grand house in its time. Very quiet and spotlessly clean. The staff are really polite and helpful. Unfortunately there is no licenced bar but the hotel allows you to consume your own alcohol in the public places. Personally, the lack of a bar area impacts on the ambience. Although, for some people this might be to their liking. We stayed in a double room which was clean and had all the amenities that you would expect, albeit a little old. Our bed was not very comfortable (room 16) but for such a big hotel it is very well heated. No cooked breakfast but plenty as an alternative, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, cereal etc. This hotel just needs a little TLC.

There is no restaurant. The bar does not have a licence, the photos on the internet are flattering. The driveway is so badly potholed it could seriously damage the unwary drivers wheels and tyres. The breakfast is rather lacking and slow. Friendly staff, but without any resource to help. TV screen not visible from the bed unless you sit at the foot end. food options plentiful in Bingley but all a good walk down a fairly long hill (and consequently back up a fairly long hill to come back)

Very good visit & price. Reception very welcoming on arrival. Room comfortable. Lovely building. A couple of suggestions: 1) Room 10 needs new pillows & mattress. 2) Breakfast buffet - please use ice trays to keep cooked meats & fish fresh.

Lovely full poster bed. Very nice old features maintained. However the poster bed frame itself was extremely dusty. Clearly hasn’t been dusted on moving. The unit at the kettle was on to get the plug switched on old teabags and range of teas which were not available. The toilet still had faecel matter stains in it which was very unappealing, and there was somebody else’s hairs left in the shower . Breakfast was continental style which would have been fine. However, the cheese was cutting into various small cubes and dried up. Therefore there was salmon. However, I’m unable to eat that there was a range of bite-size croissants. There was no fresh fruit at all available halfway through eating my two mouthful croissants, and a yoghurt I was offered toast there was no decaffeinated options available, and if you were vegan, there was no options available . There was no meal service on either night stayed and no service, which advertises both these. These were not free informed of on booking or after booking.

When you book a old Hall or House as this is you should always expect it a little rough round the edges. We’ve visited a few over the years but this was definitely one of the better ones. Lovely quiet location but not too far away from local amenities and attractions. Lovely old room with four poster Queen bed, breakfast was a little disappointing but was ample and did offer smoked salmon which is very unusual for hotels. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you in the area.

The receptionist was really friendly and provided a great service. Tom’s were clean bed’s comfortable. However alcohol was not served at the bar and I never actually seen any bar staff also the continental breakfast was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced. Won’t be going back !

Beautiful listed building and a real treat to be able to stay there. However it was cold and we had to ask for blankets on the bed as the heating was switched off at night. There's no cooked breakfast despite it saying there was at the weekend. After we'd booked we received an email to tell us this and also there was no alcohol licence so the bar only sells soft drinks. However you can take your alcohol and drink it in the bar or restaurant, so that saves a lot of money.

Truly awful and we cancelled . A hotel of this demographic and history which served a full english even alcohol . Weddings and fine dining which catered for everyone . Couples, corporate which the new owners have lost out a lot with with major companies in the immediate area . Hang your heads in shame new owners . You’ve ruined an amazing venue and lost the community and highly recommended repeat corporate , wedding , regular and community business for good. A beautiful hotel ruined .
