I recently stayed at a voco hotel and had a mixed experience. The hotel has a modern and vibrant atmosphere that I really enjoyed upon arrival. The décor is stylish, and the overall ambiance is inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a warm welcome during check-in.
However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. While the room was clean and well-appointed, I found it to be smaller than I expected, which made it a bit cramped for two guests. Additionally, I encountered some minor issues with the amenities; for instance, the Wi-Fi was somewhat unreliable at times, which was frustrating during my stay.
The hotel's location was decent, with several restaurants and attractions within walking distance, but it wasn't as central as I had hoped. Overall, voco has a great concept with its focus on sustainability and unique twists, but a few tweaks could enhance the overall experience. I would consider staying again, but with slightly lower expectations.

GGuest UserThe location is very good, the train station is only a 3-minute walk away. The hotel looks elegant. The room is more stylish and large in size than expected. Fully equipped, with bottled water, boutique coffee, chocolate biscuits and a variety of tea bags. Just just checked in, there is no extra boxed tissue available. The elevator is bad, the staff quickly helps to carry the luggage, the service attitude is very good 👍🏻 I recommend this hotel ＇ I will stay again next time. 👏🏻👏🏻

GGuest UserWe normally stay at the Hilton but I checked other hotels and found the holiday inn on trip. I can honestly say that the Hilton hotel in reading is not a patch on the holiday inn. The holiday inn is cleaner, the rooms are better and the breakfast was great, with lots of choice. Not forgetting the staff, they were polite and very welcoming.

GGuest UserWe had a lovely stay here for a wedding 15 minutes drive away.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating at all times.
The only comment I would like to raise is that we were given room 9 which was described as an accessible room (which we didn’t need) but it was completely inappropriate as accessible as the shower ( which was in the bath) would have been completely unsuitable for a wheelchair user, or someone else with difficulty moving who wouldn’t have been able to climb into the bath to use it.
Breakfast was excellent.
