Matera Hotels with Breakfast

A small charming place with very friendly hosts. The room was clean and bathroom was modern. There’s a breathtaking view of the Sassi just a couple of steps away from the place. The hosts were helpful in suggesting possible parking areas. Do note that the parking is some distance away so be prepared if you are coming with heavy bags.

The view from this hotel is absolutely stunning; you can see the entire Sassi district at a single glance. It’s also very easy to access by taxi, which is a huge plus in Matera. The room was spotless, including the bathroom and sink, and the staff welcomed us with such warmth. The breakfast was delicious, but the view from the breakfast area was the real highlight. Having breakfast here felt like a sightseeing experience in itself. If you're coming to Matera, I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

I recently stayed at the Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel and Spa in Matera, and it was an unforgettable experience. The rooms are carved out of historic caves, offering a unique and enchanting atmosphere that blends modern luxury with ancient charm. The location is perfect, nestled within the Matera Sassi UNESCO World Heritage site, providing easy access to the city’s main attractions. The hotel’s amenities are top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the spa facilities, which include a sauna, hammam, and a heated indoor pool. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met with a smile. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, adding to the overall comfort of my stay. One minor downside was the cost of some extras, which felt a bit high. Additionally, while the cave-themed rooms are stunning, they might not be for everyone due to the unique layout and lighting. Despite these small issues, the overall experience was exceptional, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and unique stay in Matera.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. We specifically came to Mateta for one night from the Salerno area to enjoy the spa and dinner. As always it did not disappoint! The junior suite room was spectacular. The spa was amazing. The a massages were amazing. The restaurant they recommended for dinner was delicious. The staff is great. Hotel location is very good, 2 minutes walk from the old town. On the 2nd floor of a residential building. The facilities of the homestay are very good, similar to the 4－ 5 star hotel, the room is small, but very comfortable. We arrived before noon and saw the cleaning staff changing the sheets very carefully for disinfection. The breakfast is monotonous, bread and milk, the proprietress is not 24 hours, so if you have something to check in, please ask quickly.

The hotel room is very beautiful and spacious, very much like the design of this cave! Staff service is very good, location is very good, quiet in the middle of the Wangzhong

This is probably the best hotel in Matera based on what we read before traveling. The service is exceptional , very helpful and friendly staff. The room is spacious, very clean and cozy. We had a small balcony with a very nice room. The restaurant that was recommended to us was also amazing. Highly recommend!

A nice boutique hotel with friendly staff at a good location with restaurants nearby. We booked two rooms - the room on 2nd floor is good but the one on ground floor smells a bit of mould. Perhaps because it’s inside a cave. Breakfast choice is limited with fruits, toast with tomatoes, and cakes. You can order boiled or scrambled eggs as this is the only hot food they serve. We are fine with that but more as fyi.

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely staff. Nice coffee and breakfast though quite simple. Would have liked some fresh orange juice in the morning rather than the cheap from concentrate stuff. Very happy on the whole though. On the whole good value for money for the sleeping in a cave house type place in Matera. Extra marks for the hotels dog Peggy who is adorable :D
