From the minute you arrive at Cliff at Lyons, you are greeted with courteous polite and friendly staff. In fact, our stay from beginning to end was exemplary. We started overnight in the Ryan Suite, which overlooks the fountain. It’s lovely to lie in bed listening to the water and the birds singing first thing in the morning. It’s so peaceful. The room was spotless, well equipped and a lovely large comfortable bed. We went to their restaurant for dinner and sampled absolutely delicious cuisine. The restaurant manager was well informed on the menu and wine, suggesting different dishes and being well informed on the menu. He also asked about allergies. We tried the pigeon, beef and cod. All were cooked to perfection. Starters right through to coffee was an exceptional culinary experience! Their staff are well trained and friendly. After dinner we strolled back to our suite through the ambient lit gravel path. Just beautiful. There is not one negative thing I can say about this place. It really is an incredible experience from start to finish. Top marks to the establishment for providing such a wonderful experience!

A magical experience once you enter the estate you leave the real world behind it’s replaced with an old world charm and splendour. The setting is amazing, the food and ambiance delightful, the staff superb. Hospitality at its very very best.. Well done and thank you for an unforgettable break at the cliff at Lyons.

Beautiful hotel just a short drive from Dublin. Grounds are fabulous. Lily Pond rooms have lovely views. Our room was OK, not quite the luxury we expected. Bathroom was stunning with a free standing bath. Village Thermal is lovely for relaxation although there is no lighting which meant by 5:30pm we couldn't see anything. This seems dangerous. The Mill is lovely for dinner - beef was very tender. Service excellent. Beautiful breakfast the next morning. Overall, it's a lovely spot for a weekend break.

Immaculate gardens with lovely scenic walks. We got upgraded to a cottage. Had the most comfortable sleep in the beds. The spa is so relaxing and the massages so relaxing. Unfortunately we didn't use the thermal area when we were there. Food was exquisite and staff were the best I've encountered at a hotel. Would thoroughly recommend if you can afford it.

Copied from my Google review: I wouldn't recommend staying here. The food is wonderful and worth the drive from Dublin, but I'd say get dinner and go home, or stay elsewhere. We stayed two nights and didn't sleep a wink. The room above ours had extremely squeaky floorboards and we could hear every move the guests up there made. Soundproofing in general was bad, there was a very genuine lack of privacy, and we heard some fairly intimate moments our neighbours were having. Our "suite" was not a suite but a very dark room, with a pretty bad mould problem in the bathroom. There was very little natural light and to open the curtains meant everyone coming back from The Well could see straight into our room. I know everything in Ireland is expensive at the moment but I really feel aggrieved by how much our stay cost, considering the room situation. We used bluebook vouchers from our wedding and this was meant to be an anniversary treat but we genuinely considered leaving at 1am because of the noise on our second night. Service varied dramatically, some people were wonderful, others significantly less so.

A relaxed driveway leads to a little piece of heaven where there is something beautiful to see everywhere you look. Not one element was overlooked when creating this place. The food was exceptional. The staff really made the stay with their friendly and helpful personalities. The room was very comfortable with all amenities. Expect to have to go outside to get to your dining areas. Through lovely well kept gardens. I can’t wait to book my next stay:

We stayed here for a friend's wedding and and thought the grounds looked lovely - particularly the plants growing up the side of the buildings. However when we got back to the room at about 11pm we found 5 large huntsman spiders all around the room. One 2 feed away from my head in the bed - they just kept appearing (and they were only the ones we could see!!) we tried to stay, but after the fifth one we had to leave as we couldn't stay there. There was clearly a spider infestation in the hotel, probably from those lovely plants we had seen earlier in the day. no refund was given or offered by the hotel and they showed no concern for us as customers at all. Just a really horrible experience and the first time we have ever had to leave a hotel because of a pest problem.

Cliff At Lyons is a truly unique property. Full of charm and character, like a quaint village. Beautifully landscaped. The cottage was spacious, well appointed, and very well kept. The entire property shows real attention to detail. Cliff at Lyons makes a GREAT base for visiting lots of attractions throughout central Ireland. We left wishing we had stayed longer.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. We went there for a friend's wedding and it looked great. We left our things in the room and went to the wedding, only going back after 11pm that night, looking forward to a nice sleep. I had just lain down on the bed when my wife saw a big huntsman spider about 2 feed from my head above me. I killed this spider and told her it was a once off. But then we looked around the room... There were 2 more of these spiders up on the ceiling (which both retreated back into the wooden beams), and another one on the wall by the fireplace. I tried to kill the one on the wall, but missed and it scurried under the fireplace. My wife then sat and watched it for about 5 minutes until it came out and I killed it. My wife by this time was incredibly anxious, but I calmed her down a bit, and we decided to try and stay there, so she started taking off her makeup in the bathroom and I lay down on the bed again. As we were talking about all of this, another spider started hanging down from the doorframe of the bathroom door, immediately between us. I killed that spider, and agreed with my wife that we couldn't stay there any longer and would just go home - our night ruined. We went to reception and were told that we could have another room. Of course we didn't want another room in a hotel with a spider infestation. We just wanted a refund and to go home. (Wouldn't any ody at that point??). We were apologised to and told that a manager would contact us the following day to confirm the refund. This was the last bit of anything resembling compassion that we were to receive. The next day their management contacted us and told us that they would not be giving a refund, because we should have just been ok with moving to another room. At no point when talking to ANY of their management people, (including Patrick Shields their COO) did they show any concern about the quality of our stay, or what we had dealt with. Instead, they were solely concerned with the money and tried every single excuse on us to try and remove any responsibility from then. They blamed us for leaving. Some examples of this * They said we should have been ok with moving to another room. I asked them if they would be ok with their wife or children sleeping in a hotel which had a spider infestation. They refused to answer this question. * They said that they had a 7 day cancellation policy, so would not accept our cancellation (despite the circumstances). * They said spiders were dormant by day and come out at night. So there was nothing they could do about it. They also said that they had never seen any spiders in any of the rooms. I asked them to do an inspection at night - they did not respond to this. * They said that this was a country hotel, so you would have pests. I told them that we had stayed in many country hotels around Ireland and in other countries, and we had never seen anything like this. They said we should have expected it. I asked them
