Garni Hotel Castle Bridge

We paid for a river view upgraded room and were given room 208. Technically the room does have a river view, but it’s not really usable. The window is right in front of the bed, but too high so you can’t see the river from the bed, you’d have to stand in the small space available in front of the bed to see it, which is not practical for any length of time. We had assumed river view means a balcony but it doesn’t. The rooms next to us did have a balcony but beware that smoking is permitted on the balcony and people were smoking so if smoke bothers you the balcony may not be usable. The room is also extremely noisy. There is something wrong with the insulation (or it’s nonexistent) so you can hear sounds from neighbors above, next to and below the room. Earplugs are necessary unless you are unbothered by noise. This was true even though we were there in the middle of the week,the hotel was not full and the bar next door was not operating (operates Thursday through Sunday apparently). I imagine it would’ve been far worse otherwise. Adequate breakfast, though some of the baked goods were stale and the selection was small. Nice terrace next to the river available for breakfast but closed afterwards. Convenient location but there are plenty of lodgings in excellent locations in this gorgeous and amazing town. Disappointing hotel. Small room, noisy and spartan furnishings. No real grounds, Just a place to sleep and not a good one.

Great location on the river and our ground floor terrace room was a good size. Bed was 2 singles pushed together and only 1 pillow each supplied and no spare or blanket in the wardrobe. it was cold for us. Breakfast was basic. kettle in room but no tea or coffee. More of a 3 than 4 star. We enjoyed Cesky Krumlov however. Glad we stayed a night when we could enjoy it without so many tour groups.

The hotel is in a perfect location and the view from our room was wonderful! The room is medium in size, but comfortable and clean. The reception is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is complete and tasty. Parking is paid and is very close to the hotel.

I stayed for two nights with my son and granddaughter. They had a ground floor river room and I a second floor river room. You’ll probably want a river view as the rooms on the other side overlook only a small street. The ground floor rooms have direct access to the river walk. All rooms seem to be fairly spacious and were clean and with good amenities. The front desk is manned from 7 to 7. Breakfast had a lot of choices, including hot eggs and meats, and was quite nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location is terrific, only a short walk from the parking lot and minutes from everything in the old town. Excellent choice and quite comfortable!

This bridge and the whole town is absolutely gorgeous. Get to the Castle first thing as it gets very crowded especially with Instagrammers! It is a bit of a tough climb but well worth it when you get there. Make sure you tour the Castle and gardens while you are up there.
