Great little town, comfortable stay. We flew in and drove out to Clifden the same day and were pleasantly surprised by the welcome stay at the Clifden Station House Hotel. The beds were great (very important after a long day) and the town is in a great location to see the local sites and as a jumping off point for Connemara National Park. The Station House staff was welcoming and helpful and always had a smile for us. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with options and gave us an ok start to the day.

A group of 4 friends went on a break to Clifden recently and stayed in this wonderful hotel for dinner bed and breakfast. Dinner dishes were freshly cooked for us, meeting our individual requirements. The menu was amazing for a hotel, including rack of lamb, mussels, crab, sole and prawns, beef cooked to our individual taste, and crispy duck that was the best we have ever eaten.Lovely home made hummus, gorgeous fresh vegetables and potatoes. Clearly they have an excellent chef and they also have the best customer service throughout the hotel that I have experienced in years. The town itself is also great - a super Vintage shop and high end Art Gallery were well worth a visit. We are planning our next trip already. Thank you to everyone who looked after us so well.

We had such a good experience from the start. We off work for some of Easter and would have loved a break away but everything was so expensive that we couldn’t book anything. I received a notification that the station house had an offer so phoned the hotel to get an absolutely fabulous lady on the other end, she was so helpful and had a charm/wit about her I was unstintingly taken in. So we booked an apartment for one night (I think usually there is a min stay) anyway our one night turned into two and we wished it was more. We have a love for this area so much and dream of going back every time we leave so we were in no doubt that we’d have good times. The hotel delivered over and above to make the stay such a memorable one. One thing they did that I haven’t had often was a lovely welcome pack. Consisting of a multi pack cereal for the kids, fruit, butter, homemade soda bread, milk in a glass bottle and chocolates. This was such a lovely touch. The apartment was comfortable and some updates have taken place (a few more required) having said that it was so warm and clean that I can’t fault it. The staff were so friendly and helpful at reception you wouldn’t find better, the same with the railway bar, kids club. On the most part the main restaurant staff were lovely except one lady that made me feel like we were trying to pull a fast one by saying nice and loud “do you have breakfast included in your package??” And then searching the list like I was a criminal, I felt like I was one too… I didn’t hear her asking anyone else this question.embarrassing.. food at breakfast was good. Railway bar was delicious. Staff lovely and friendly. Music was a lovely addition. Have always loved this bar for food, it didn’t disappoint. We loved it so much that we stayed an additional night. The kids loved everything about it. They really enjoyed the kids club. The girls working there were lovely. One downfall is definitely the pool. I wouldn't rate it. It needs some improvements for sure. Overall a great place for families to stay. I hope we can return. I really couldn’t get over how good the staff were.

Warm, Friendly, Clean, Good Breakfast, Central to the town, Great atmosphere, in reception area. Rooms are a bit dated on the smaller side, bathroom good size shower is lovely and hot, again a bit dated. Sockets are a disaster to plug into, they lay inches from the counter top with no room for the cable without causing a turn on the cable. So bring an adapter that will solve it. 2 bottles of water in the room was lovely, the the extra touch was the crunchy on the pillow Friday morning 🙂 a really nice gesture. Hallway fresh carpet and paint looks sharp, the lifts work speedy. Children do stay in this hotel I love children but not everyone will they play in the hallway late evening and can be disturbing for some early snoozers. I personally wasn't overly put out it's a hotel after all. I had a look in the gym it's very well equipped I didn't use the pool. Generally I loved this spot I can't wait to come back with our children for a family stay. The staff are by a long way the best I've experienced in a hotel in Ireland for years. Happy to be there and happy to help.

This place is class. Absolutely perfect for our young family. Staff are tip notch. They couldn't do enough for us. Food is delicious. The girls in the kid's club and cinema are amazing. The bar staff are too. A truly memorable holiday. We will be back. We all totally switched off and felt like it was by a mile the easiest few nights away we have ever had. Thank you all. ♡

Enjoyed 4 nights at this lovely family run hotel on a walking trip. James and his team were exceptional with hospitality, warmth, friendliness and attentive to all ones needs & requests. A choice of restaurant or bar/bistro for food and the food was excellent. Music in the bar/bistro and piano in the large comfortable foyer. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable & had everything one needed. Ideal venue for touring around Connamara. The town is just 2 mins walk from the hotel. Lots of information to hand on activities around Clifden and Connamara to do.
