Maniumpathy Hotel

We had a warm welcome from the staff after a long flight. Our room was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The food and service were very good. I would recommend this lovely hotel.

On my first day in Sri Lanka, I came to Maniumpathy and instantly fell in love with the historic charm and appeal of the entire property! Not only is it located in a great locality of Colombo, it offers so much inside the hotel that it will be quite difficult for you to leave and go explore the city! I absolutely loved everything here from the interiors, laidback vibe and friendly staff! I’d like to make a special mention for the entire staff as they were all so friendly and upbeat throughout the day and their energy really transfers onto the guests! Upul really looked after me during my time at Maniumpathy and he was just so attentive and friendly and patient! Very accommodating staff as well as polite. They have 7 rooms available which are each differently furnished and I really didn’t expect the level of luxury that I saw in each room! Super beautiful and aesthetic corners dotted around the property as well as some active squirrels which you can spot! The bathrooms were regal and the entire feel of the rooms can instantly relax you and put you in a vacation mood! If you’re coming from the Middle East or in a group/with family, this is a great place to base yourself out of since it’s a locally owned property and they can offer you a true Sri Lankan experience through their hospitality, food and entertainment! I tried so many items from their menu as well and thoroughly enjoyed everything! It was my first time trying Sri Lankan food and the Thaali they served me (A platter consisting of different dishes in small quantities which allow you to eat several things at once) just blew me away and I can really see how different it is to regional cuisines of South Asia while still bearing a few similarities. The Jaffna curry and the Payasam was my favourite! Their pool area is so serene and you can even enjoy at their spa! I think it’s wonderful to stay at several hotels whenever visiting a new country or city as you can check out the area as well and learn more through the locals so a visit to Maniumpathy is definitely a must for the ultimate Sri Lankan experience!

This is my 2nd time here and it was nice to have visit it again. We went for a high tea buffet just for a change and OMG it was the best. So much worth for the price and the selections were amazing, the environment, the food were just a perfect match and so much fulfilling. And again thankyou so much for the wonderful experience and the service. Hoping to visit again.

OMG! What a gorgeous boutique hotel! We enjoyed their verandah cafe and the food was superb. In fact it was so good that after visiting for lunch the first time, we returned the next day for breakfast! We didn't experience their rooms but the overall service was so good that we would recommend Maniumpathy for a stay too. The decor is elegant and tasteful, and the house has so much history, which is lovingly celebrated.

We came to this hotel with high expectations from the reviews, glad to say was not disappointed in any way. The room are stunning beautiful, we stay in one of there best rooms and detail to finish was fantastic, when you been out most of the day in the city it was so relaxing to come back to. The staff were so helpful accomadated all your needs, the breakfast and dinner were superb, we enjoyed dinner twice in this hotel and it was worth staying in for. Reception Manager Arjumath was so good at her job so helpful, the staff who cleaned the room were fantastic, also the massage man was excellent in this hotel. The general manager was wonderful man so helpful and made our stay truly wonderful, I wish we had longer here would defiantly come back it worth every moment, thank you for stunning stay.

Great small hotel for stay in Colombo. Friendly helpful staff, cute pool, fab rooms with great pillows & easy to get around by Uber Tuk! Delicious breakfasts with lots of choice & freshly squeezed juices. I would recommend for a few nights in Colombo

This hotel is beautiful and well taken care off. It’s an old colonial home that has been tastefully converted into a boutique hotel. Even thought it is on a busy road you don’t hear vehicle noise. My favourite is the immaculate service and excellent food. I stayed there twice and the second time all the staff recognized me and made me feel at home.

Visited as part of our Honeymoon in Colombo. Was the perfect spot for our stay. Amazing building and rooms, great breakfast and very central whilst still quiet and cozy. Staff went out of their way to also make our Honeymoon special with a decorative display on our return after dinner.

We spent a super couple of nights here at the start of our visit to Sri Lanka. Maniumpathy is a fabulous place to get your bearings with a gentle introduction to this amazing city and country. The food is excellent and superb service. The bedrooms are super comfortable and all located around a beautiful garden. The pool is small and we didn’t try if but it was an idyllic place to relax after the buzz of the city.
