"We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Belle Vue. What a fabulous place! The stunning Georgian house is beautifully styled and decorated and stands in a small but pretty garden with an elegant outdoor terrace. We stayed in the Nottingham room which was extremely comfortable and stylish and had every amenity that you could need. The bed, the linens, the furnishings and the bathroom were all luxurious. The refreshment tray was topped up daily with complementary teas, coffees, water and cookies. In the dining room there was a selection of very reasonably priced beers and wines that could be purchased via an honesty box. The real highlight of our stay, however, was the breakfast! A fantastic choice of cold and hot dishes, all prepared to order. We have stayed in a number of Michelin-starred restaurants with rooms and rarely have the breakfasts come up to the standard offered here. Martyn was a perfect host. If you are thinking of taking a break in beautiful Norfolk, this is definitely the place to stay."

"I’ve been staying at this Travelodge quite a bit over the last few months for work and it’s been a great experience. The rooms are all very spacious and to say this is one of the older style hotels the condition overall is amazing. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are plenty of places to eat in the general area and to say this hotel is next to a service station the noise levels are very quiet. I would be happy to stay here in the future."

"So 1st impressions count! As you walk in the main door you see that the paint is peeling off the door. The carpets in all the public areas and our room, are filthy and badly stained. The paintwork is peeling off the woodwork and chipped everywhere. There are marks and stains on the paintwork everywhere. There was no wifi in our room at all and none in the hotel at all in the morning. There is a stench of rancid fat & smoke in the bar and breakfast room, it looks as if the kitchen is venting smoke into the hotel. We were planning to eat there in the evening, but after being told that the kitchen closed at 8pm and we wanted to eat at 7:45pm, luckily we decided to eat else where. The room is very tatty, with paint peeling off the window frames and doors, in fact the window won't close. There were no glasses to drink out of in the room, just a couple of mugs. Breakfast was a disaster. My wife asked for a banana - 15 mins later the young chap came back to say they didn't have any, he had forgotten to take my breakfast order, my wife then asked for a sausage sandwich on brown bread and & had a cooked breakfast. After another 15 minutes they are, the sausage sandwich on white bread and not brown, my fried egg was full of shell, the sausage must have been cooked an hour ago and the black pudding was tepid. The supposed coffee was simply tasteless hot brown. All in all one of the worst places we've ever stayed and thoroughly unpleasant."

"Chose Bridge House Hotel as the last stopping point on our roadtrip. Nice hotel on the river with lovely views.Had a nice welcome on arrival,the room was lovely,clean,with a big bathroom.Was recommended a super Indian Restaurant for Dinner in town.Breakfast had a good variety of continental options and cooked breakfast was lovely.The hotel also has it's own cafe, for residents and locals with seating out by the river,unfortunately the weather was not kind for the couple of days we were there but looked very nice. Good value for money and would recommend a stay if visiting this part of Suffolk."

The Pig Shed Motel

"We stayed at this accommodation after cycling the Peddars Way from Thornham (Castle Acre is our halfway point), and it is brilliant. The price per night is very reasonable for what you get. For a family room you get one double bed, and a single (which is VERY small), a coffee machine, a kettle, a fridge and a bathroom. Everything in the room is clean and tidy, you can tell they clean it well. The only thing they can do that would make it pitch perfect is allow the heating to be changed at ease as we felt the room was slightly on the cold side, and currently the only way to change the heating is that you have to request for it to be changed at the pub which is a bit of a nuisance. Overall a great one night stay, we will definitely be back if we ever cycle the Peddars Way again!"
