We didn’t actually sleep here but used it as a base while we waited for our late night flight. The room was basic but clean, bed was comfy, bathroom was good too. Towels and sheets nice and clean. The lift did break just as we were about to leave and we had quite a lot of luggage, which was a bit frustrating but not exactly their fault. The staff member on reception kindly carried down some very heavy luggage for us from the 3rd floor.

Hotel was in a nice location, had a spacious and clean room with all the essentials you’d need in a hotel room, Joan at the front desk was very helpful with the check in and when the keycard stopped working helped us replace the keycard no bother..! Location can be a bit noisy but it’s a very handy location for the centre of Edinburgh.

Joan was amazing at check in and so accommodating in helping me get into our room even though several members of my family had arrived before me. She was sweet and professional. The room was clean and even bigger than expected. Great stay, thanks Joan!

Stayed and first off no parking, not even disabled space, had to go to there contract carpark which was £27 per night! Then there is Ubers to and from the car park as it's too far to walk which was £9 each way! Lift in the building didn't sound safe at all. Noisy neighbours and noisy streets. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable to the point I woke with a bad back ruining the plans the next day.

Nice place, clean and most importantly - in the center of everything in the city of edinbrugh. The room was specious enought, with a clean bathroom. The service especially was wonderful warm and kind, by joan and all the stuff. …………………………..

On the plus side, this hotel is in a very central location. My room was very clean on arrival with good towels. My bed was comfortable. Kettle, mugs, tea and coffee. The receptionists were very pleasant. Now for the negatives: minimalist doesn't begin to describe it. Beds, a hanging rail, a desk, 2 chairs. That was it. Not even a glass in the bathroom for your toothbrush. The temperature control on the shower (which had an old fashioned curtain) was loose and moved by itself, so that the shower was either freezing cold or scorching hot. The room was cold, even with the small heater turned up to maximum. Only 30 minutes free WiFi in 24 hours!!? Seriously? Of course you can pay for more. What a cynical money-making scheme! I regularly travel all over Europe and even the most basic accommodation has free WiFi. What a joke. The TV was tiny. There's no restaurant or breakfast room (you can buy a basic packed breakfast at reception) but that wasn't really a problem as there are lots of eating options nearby. What really surprised me was that they only clean your room if you stay for 6 days or longer! There's no toilet brush either, so imagine that. Or perhaps not. You can request a "top up", which means they'll empty your bin and top up your tea and coffee and towels. I requested this, but all they did was empty my bin. There were spare towels, so that wasn't a problem, but I did need more tea. Edinburgh is a ridiculously expensive city for accommodation, and this Travelodge appeared at first glance to compare well pricewise, but seriously, it wasn't cheap and actually I didn't get much for what I paid. I felt ripped off. I wouldn't stay there again on principle , for the absence of cleaning/servicing and free WiFi alone. Extremely unimpressed.

Stayed at the Travelodge Edinburgh Central on Rose Street between 3 March to 5 March 2025. Hotel was excellent and the receptionist services were outstanding. Special mention to Joan who was extremely helpful and kind during our entire stay. Great staff at Travelodge Edinburgh Central.
