Travelodge Edinburgh Central Princes Street

This place was a port in a literal storm during Storm Eowyn, with Carol and Chris giving a warm welcome in their role as caretakers to lost eedjits with cancelled flights. Edinburgh more or less looked like it must have during the covid-era; virtually nothing was open and footfall was almost zero. I still felt comforted to have such chatty hosts and Carol clearly laid out all the pointers about the place and accomodated my fussiness about which room I was going to stay in, whilst regaling me of her own storm story - we all had one by this time! I was lucky to get a place to stay after Edinburgh airport kicked us all out - this is a very reasonably priced hotel as near to Waverley as you need with St James quarter shopping centre nearby and (in normal times) pubs within 50m walking distance! Incidentally I only deduct one star because there was nothing to do in town so there was nothing for it but to watch TV; it was a rather small screen and the signal kept dropping out so I used my laptop. Not a biggie and no reflection on the staff or service in general. Cheers to Carol and Chris once again.
