Destiny Student - Holyrood (Brae House)

When we checked in, the complimentary tray at reception was nearly empty. We didn’t even realize they provided complimentary shampoo and body wash because the staff didn’t mention it—they only asked if we needed towels. As photographers on a business trip with bags full of gear, we didn't have space to carry our own toiletries, so we ended up having to shower without any. The next morning, as we were checking out, we noticed that there actually were complimentary shampoos and body wash available. It’s really important that the reception staff inform guests about these amenities at check-in and ensure the tray is restocked promptly. Otherwise, it’s unfair that some guests miss out on these essential items. It was a bit frustrating to say the least.

Great location, alot of attractions are within walking distance and close to public transport aswell. The city centre has plenty of places to eat including halal, vegan and vegetarian places/options. The accommodation looked clean on a surface level but I did have to wipe everything down for my own comfort, parts of the room had stains so maybe they didn'tdo a good job cleaning. The ensuite room is fairly private, there is a shared kitchen area at the end of the hall in the apratment but it'sfairly private and people keep to themselves. Disappointingthat they said it was adults only and we had children in our apartment throwing tantrums in the AM when i was trying to sleep. They provide 1 towel per guest and a tiny tube of shampoo/body wash. You will need: your own handwash, hand towel, slippers, I would recommend your own body wash- it's maybe enough for 1 wash so better to bring your own. The bed is small but 2 adults can fit if you get snug. The reception is 24hr, they lend out irons and fans if you want them. The staff are friendly, so overall ok. We booked last minute so it was reasonable for the price.

The location is excellent with nearby resorts. We can walk to the famous Royal mile, Holyrood Palace and Arthur Seat. Excellent choice of this living at Edinburgh.

Close to the road and noisy at night. The bathroom has a bit of an odor. The facilities are alright and the location is quite convenient if you are only staying for a short period of time. Relatively affordable
