Website sucks, although we are members site kept returning to main screen. We tried for half an hour to book two rooms and could not pass first webpage. My sister in law went on website from another town and got booked BUT almost £100 more than was offered on the same website we used. I contacted management and was basically told “ so sad too bad “, we are on a floating process menu we can’t do anything, but we will pass along to webpage team. We have made this booking, the next 38 days of Our vacation you can guarantee will be with another organization……Premier inns sucks.

Slightly disappointed with the cleanliness and amenities in the room on arrival. Not enough towels in the bathroom, carpet dirty/not hoovered before our arrival. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average. Dinner was very nice.

The hotel is very shabby and desperately in need of modernisation and has been for some time! The restaurant was freezing and most of the items on the menu were unavailable. The breakfast was all over cooked, I had to return it 3 times and they gave me back the same breakfast each time. I had to eat my breakfast on small plates because every time I asked them replace something the rest of my food was cold! They need to change the restaurant into a table/thyme like some of the better premier inns. It claims to be a help your self buffet but you have to send your order to the kitchen to cook individually yet it still comes out over cooked and disgusting! Save your money and book a decent hotel, I wouldn’t expect it to still be trading for much longer it’s so bad people will stop going altogether soon!

This Premier Inn hotel was more affordable (but still expensive being Edinburgh) as it was further out from the city centre and located on a main road. It was, however, well connected by quick bus routes and closer to the east side of Holyroyd park - ideal if you want to attend Holyroyd parkrun as I did. The room was small, but had a good sized bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The view from my window was of rooftops so not great, and there was a noisy boiler in the wall, which didn't bother me, but would others. There was a Beefeater attached providing breakfast and otehr meals, but I did not eat here as I had a bad experience waiting over 15 minutes to be seated at dinner. It was fine for a one night stay, although was fairly basic and more suburban, so I would recommend staying closer to the centre if you wanted something more convenient and to experience more of Edinburgh.

As stalwart supporters of Premier Inn throughout the UK we were very disappointed by this hotel which was not of the standard we have grown to expect. The plus points are the receptionist was friendly and the night was quiet. However there were a number of issues of concern. The building is dated, the carpet and other fittings are worn, the room and the bathroom was cold. We had booked a double room but were given a quad room for just the two of us. There was only one chair in the room and when we asked for another one were told there were no spare chairs. We stayed on a Saturday night which was very expensive and definitely not worth the money. It is annoying to have to pay £9 for parking when the stay itself is costly. Past experience has been that Premier Inn operate to a universal standard but this no longer seems to be the case. We would never return here, but this would make us cautious about staying in another premier inn as we can no longer be sure of the standard.

Staff were friendly, catered to our needs and were very helpful, close to all amenities and local buses were easy to figure out to go places. Would definitely recommend. The beach was a 20 minute walk and the town a 15 minute bust journey so the best of both worlds.

Receptionists welcome was like someone had died. Room smelt awful and damp. Duvet felt like it needed a good wringing out. Couldn’t wait to get up in the morning and out into some fresh air. Charged for the luxury of parking. I use Premier Inn a lot. This has to be the worst I’ve ever stayed in. For £100+ it’s taking the Michael.
