Great
GGuest UserTook 15 mins to book in could not find my details. Booked a kingsize superior room and got two single beds put together as my bed. Was not comfortable. There was a water tank beside my room that kept dripping my full duration of my break. Would not be going back to the hotel
YYunduanderizi21A very traditional, elegant, ancient and solemn hotel, the overall feeling is very good!
The location is very convenient. After exiting the Waverley train station, you can reach the hotel in less than 5 minutes on foot. The entrance is very eye-catching. It's just a big uphill walk, and it will be a bit strenuous if you push a large piece of luggage. It only takes 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the castle.
The hotel lobby is very traditional, and the characteristic bonfire hall seems to have entered Santa Claus's home. The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic and introduced the various facilities in the room in detail. Because Scotland is still quite cold, I didn't feel it when I turned on the heating in the room to the maximum. In the morning, a traditional English breakfast on the first floor of the hotel is absolutely amazing. There is a western restaurant with candlelight dinner next to the hotel, where you can enjoy a sweet world for two! 😍😍
LLuxenomad**Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh: Warmth & Convenience**

What truly shines is the **exceptionally warm service**: the reception team greets you with genuine smiles, swift solutions, and local tips, making every moment feel special. Professional yet personable, they elevate the experience effortlessly.
Ideal for travelers seeking comfort, location, and heartfelt hospitality. An absolute delight! 🌟
AAnna2308Staff are nice, hotel location isn’t difficult to find, breakfast is better than expected, yet there are some dirt on the bed, no one clean the room in my entire 3 days living, no vending machine, the kettle is mold, so I can’t get any drink when I am thirsty
GGuest UserThis hotel exceeded our expectations, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the view from the room fabulous, and bed amazingly comfortable. Defo stay here ❤️
GGuest UserThe overall performance of the hotel is a bit over the average level. The most satisfactory point of it is the location. It is very convenient for the guests to wander about the old castle area. They can go to the sightseeing attraction and to the tourist information centre easily. There are also different kinds of restaurants. So people have wider choices to choose their meals.
GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed
Room 210, 26.10-28.10 2024
GGuest UserGenerally very good. Very convenient and easy-use machine to check in and out
Great bar and common area. Staff are very helpful even in the midnight.
The only problem is there is no place to heat the food up even we asked the staff to help
TtszchingThe time required to walk from the train station to the hotel is about 20 mins.
There are some stores near the hotel.
There are 2 floors for the hotel. We live in a room on the 1st floor. The size is decent and the equipment is sufficient. However, the window is at the height of a peoples's head. The people outside can easily look into the room and privacy is a issue.
Also, there are some problems in the bathroom. The light in the bathroom is automatic and this is a disadvantage. When I sit on the toilet, the sensor in the bathroom cannot detect my movement and will turn the light off every minute. It will be a lot better if I can switch the lights on manually. Also, the method of changing the temperature of the shower is very unhuman.
Overall, it is a fine aparthotel but there are some problems
JJoy LynRoom was brilliant.✨ Had a very comfortable sleep and rest everytime we go back to our cozy space. Location was slightly far from the centre (approx 36mins) but still managed to walk because of edinburgh's outstanding architectures, we barely noticed the distance we travelled. Receptionist was very nice as well. Wil recommend! ✨
