We love this place. It's perfect for the kids, and for what it is also very nice for adults. Rooms are OK. The hotel is not new, but clean and tidy. To issues: During the week, the reception bar is closed, and the restaurant is only open in the evenings. The only lunch option is the barmenu inside the water park. To get there you must go downstairs, through the dressing rooms/shower and up the stairs, and then you can order, and pick up your food at the bar. What is a bit weird is that the kitchen is the same as for the breakfast hall, and you can easily arrange a pickup point outside the water park there. We kindly asked in the reception if they could order for us so we could pick up outside there, or if it was possible to have someone bring our food to our table in the reception bar? No - you must go inside and order, and carry it through the dressing room /showers etc yourself was the first answer. I found this to be very strange and asked a second person in the reception. She took my point, and after some discussions with her colleagues they managed to fix it. I simple dont understand why the can make a system with a pick up point, they already have "beepers" for the food inside the waterpark, and it should be very easy to put some of these in the reception so you could order from there, or they could set up a terminal like any fast food restaurant have these days, and you could provide your cell number for the pick up message. No stress, and so much more convenient for everyone. Just a suggestion... P.S. And as a teadrinker I always find small coffecups to be very annoying when there is no teapots available for breakfast. They eventually found one, and I spent one teabag for 4 cups of tea. A bit more enviromentalfriendly, and better business for them I guess ... D.S.

The water in the main pools was rather cold (we have been here before). Also, it was freezing to get out of the water. A tropical water world like this should be at least warm enough not to freeze. The room was good, but the sofa bed was so squeeky. Impossible to sleep, so had to sleep on the floor, using the matress. The breakfast was rather plain, and the options were not many. Plus for pancakes and waffles. As for those with need of glutenfree food, the options were even poorer. There were some buns, they smelled of yeast, and did not taste any good. Nothing sweet for those who can’t have gluten. I also miss signs that told which allergenes the different food contained. I had to ask the staff whether there was gluten in the food or not, and they had to ask furter. I also missed signs that said that the toaster was only for glutenfree bread. The only sign there was in this allergy friendly corner said «allergy friendly breakfast». This is not good enough. People could easily make mistakes because of the lack of signs, which can result in people who have allergies becoming really ill or sick. The breakfast during the week-end was until 10.30, but the staff started removing the food 20 minutes early, and everything was cleaned by the time the breakfast should be done. People took plates with them to their room because they found it unpleasant to sit around when the staff were cleaning all over.

Terribly outdated decor - has not been touched since it was built. Reception staff who definitely did not want to be there - trump is more charming than her. Parking is atrocious: Up a very steep ice covered ramp, which you ned have to walk down to get to reception- and up and down again to place parking ticket! How many broken cars/legs does that result in. And the snow/ice wasn’t even cleared on the lot! They could at least make it possible register the car in reception like at Scandic Kolding. This decoy does NOT do anything good for the Scandic reputation

Nice rooms, kid love the bath but the breakfast was a total disaster. no fried eggs, bacon was small tiny diced bits of something, limited selection of vegetables, cheese and cold cut to have on the morning sandwiches. limited type of bread. The selection of "Danish" were gone and now it was just a semidried cinnamon-roll and nothing more. Juice mixed with to much water and only apple and orange to choose from. (seems like they have decided to change the whole setup of breakfast to the worse, i hope they come to their senses and take a step back to what it used to be) Breakfast at "the reef" was something to look forward to but now it is just a sad excuse for a breakfast. This year they added American waffles but they were totally tasteless.

This is a very nice hotel to bring your family. The kids had a really good time and we will be back. Very good service from the staff and a decent breakfast buffet, even though I have had better on other Scandic hotels. This might be because it was off- season. The pool erea was really nice. All in all a pleasant stay.

Big party for adults Witherspoon drink people everywhere! The family friendly. The hotel have not respond to our complaint! Even the staff felt uncomfortable. We are never going to stay there again even though we go to frederikshavn several times a year.

Came here as part of tour. This hotel has a onsite water park, mainly inside, and your rooms are themed on a water theme. There are bunk beds inside for younger children and comfy single beds with duvet. I slept well. Staff all seemed friendly, I didn't really interact much to tell truth. We had a fixed dinner, soup and breads and other dishes which was good. Breakfast was adequate buffet of your usual fair in Scandinavia. There is not much around the hotel though. Decent stay.
