Great
JJJ2025For the price I paid was well worth it, great hotel. Never had food or drink as prices looked pricey. Never used other facilities in the hotel due to there closing times and the time I arrived unfortunately. Only issue was the original room I was given had to go to reception twice as key card wasn’t working but the eventually sorted it by giving me another room. (You would think they would be aware if one of there room doors ain’t working prior to guest arrival). Apart from that had a great stay and would recommend.
GGuest UserI would stay again, especially if attending something at the Hydro. I was stung by the carpark as thought you had to download and pay on the app that is signposted all over the carpark. I paid £26.25 for 24 hrs, then went to check in and was told I should've waited until I checked in as it was £10! Maria, who checked us in, asked if we wanted a paper, and we told her our choice. The next morning when it didn't arrive, we asked at reception about it and were told this was not a service they offer? The only other negative was a very rude hotel guest who would not let my elderly mother and I in the lift she was in, even although plenty of space.
GGuest UserFriendly waiter/bar staff in Steven. Beer - very good. Ambience very good. Ate out for dinner. Heating in room very erratic, only works when cars in. So room cold on return. Disabled room, bathroom door opens right out into room and moves fast with no stopper, middle of the night I head butted door on opening it as it swung away. No lasting damage done but a bit dangerous. Partner said bathroom freezing during night.
Breakfast bang average - no traditional Scottish tattie scones, no scrambled egg and fried eggs are white of an uncooked type. Despite asking twice for a flipped fried egg - same white silicone esque rubber circle. Defo not edible. Waiter rude to my partner when asked about replacement. Clearly no frying facilities being used. The milk of which I had a glass of was the wateriest milk and most unpleasant taste - was it Uht? Or powdered with water added? Baked beans and sausages very tasty. No HP or Heinz sauces. Some of bread poor quality. Coffee from a work style urn. Not very modern.
Parking overpriced and car which had been washed prior to arriving was filthy on departure with a brown layer of dirt on it.
I note that website chooses to mention under Historic Sites: Hampden Park and Celtic Park: 4.0mi | 14 min drive
Funny that Ibrox Stadium - with the iconic Main Stand which is closer than the above is not given a mention. Bigotry alive in well in the hotel establishment management.
Won’t be returning or recommending.
DDarcy23We enjoyed our stay. The only thing we weren’t happy about was that we get told we had booked for two nights which we did and there was only £48 left to pay, but when we went to Reception in the morning, they changed the price which I think is very unprofessional. I think when you’re told a price it shouldn’t change, but I will be complaining to the management about this because I’m still not happy with that if I hadn’t got up at 10 o’clock to pay it I would have been told I had to pay £200 instead of £48 what I was told the night before so I’m not happy about being messed about luckily we booked somebody else for the remain night as we didn’t feel comfortable after what happened and the staff from 9am I’m not that professional the night staff were so much nicer and didn’t have an unprofessional manner unlike the day staff !!
BBee HoonWe stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.
AAlexFirstly our booking wasn’t confirmed so we had to wait until the communication between yourselves and Ibis Styles was rectified secondly there had been a disturbance in the Hotel , nothing to do with us , and the Police were knocking on our door at 5am in the morning , this was very scary and very upsetting. This incident spoiled our full weekend.
SSapphirexIbis Styles Glasgow Central is a good location to stay should you intend to layover in Glasgow. It's about 10 minutes walking distance from Glasgow Central Station and within 15 minutes from fast food eateries and shopping places. Rooms are clean and basic amenities are provided for. Breakfast is good and incorporates a mix of international and English cuisines.
HOWEVER, I have had a bad experience regarding a certain payment. I booked this hotel via Trip.com and have prepaid for my stay. When I checked in on 17/7, I was told by the receptionist of that day that my card details were needed. I was assured that there would be no deduction performed and that the details were only required should there be incurred damages in my room during the stay. Yet, on the same day evening, I received a notification that 143 pounds had been deducted. I questioned the receptionist of that day and was reassured, and I quote: ”There was this transaction made to confirm that your card is not a dunce and is payable.”
The next day, before checking out, I reconfirmed with the receptionist of that day (18/7) if the money would be refunded to me. After checking on their end, they said that the money will be refunded. This morning (19/7), I have just received another notification that the status of the 143-pounds transaction has changed from pending to approved. I am disappointed and upset regarding this, and I would like to urge future travellers to be wary of this incident.
HHelencyWe had a great experience at the ibis budget hotel in Glasgow. Rooms was clean, staff was helpful and friendly. There was nothing to complain about. People looking for a stay in Glasgow on a budget should definitely give this one a try. It is not that far from the main city centre. Also there things to do around the hotel location. There is a lovely bridge near by connecting the main centre.
GGuest UserWe booked a stay here for one night to take in a show at the Oran Mor in the west end of Glasgow. The hotel has an overall lived in appearance and could do with a spruce up. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very small but clean. The bed was very uncomfortable. The electronic lock on the door wouldn’t work properly and needed several attempts to allow it to open. The room was quite warm so we slept with the window open, that was until we were woken by the horrific smell of someone smoking ***** either from an adjacent room or outside accompanied by the shouting and screaming of drunks until the early hours. A very uncomfortable stay all in all.
AAndy.12The ubication is good close to the train station, just they can improve the Customer service i call many times before to arrive and they never answer.
