GGuest UserArrived in Hawaii super early this time. I'd asked my Ctrip Black Diamond concierge to contact the hotel in advance to see if an early check-in was possible (US hotels typically have late check-in and early check-out, which can be a pain). I didn't have high hopes, but when I got to the front desk around 10 AM, they actually let me check in! And they even upgraded us to a suite. The room was, needless to say, huge. Both the fixtures and furnishings were excellent. There were disposable slippers and even disposable toothbrushes. The kitchenware and tableware were very complete and functional. The dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, and other appliances were all good quality. They even had a proper duvet and a smart toilet (it barely felt like a US hotel, haha). Parking is quite expensive (valet parking is the only option at $55 per day, and it's best to tip every time you get your car). But I suppose most hotels in Waikiki are similar... nothing you can really do about it.

GGuest UserWe were given Room 08 in the Ewa building, and the balcony view was exactly as pictured. Even though we were on a high floor, we could still faintly hear the lively party music at night, but it didn't bother our sleep. I'm not sure if it would be an issue for lower floors. Getting to the beach was super convenient – just cross the street, turn right, and you're there. The waves on this part of the beach are very gentle and consistent, so I'd recommend renting a board and heading out. The hotel providing beach towels and chairs was a nice touch and very convenient. The room itself was quite spacious, and while it felt a bit dated, the restroom and bathroom had been renovated with updated fixtures, including a Japanese toilet. The only downside is that the bathroom space felt a bit cramped.

YYee11Hands down, this hotel is all about location, convenience, and comfort. If you want to be right in the middle of all the Waikīkī buzz, this is it. You’re just minutes from Waikīkī Beach and within easy walking distance to International Market Place, Royal Hawaiian Center, countless restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores. Everything is so accessible that you can explore easily on foot. The rooms feel fresh and newly renovated, with a modern island-chic style. Clean, bright, and comfortable — not ultra-luxury, but definitely more than sufficient for a relaxing stay. Perfect if you want the essentials done well without paying for full resort-style extras. You’re surrounded by food options — poke, shave ice, smoothie spots, breakfast cafés, and nicer dinner restaurants. Convenience stores are just steps away, making it easy to grab essentials without needing transport. If you value prime location, walkability, renovated rooms, an outdoor pool, a gym, and solid value over ultra-luxe amenities, this hotel is a great choice.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get everywhere. The ocean view from our room was fantastic! There's a laundry room downstairs, and it's $6 per wash, payable by card. Just outside the hotel, there's a simple coffee shop that gets busy during breakfast. They seem to serve things like Acai bowls and waffles.

GGuest UserThe hotel is at a really convenient location across Waikiki beach with many food options around the area. Other than that, there’s nothing really special about the hotel. The service from the staff was lacking, when we had an issue with the room, they kept asking what we wanted rather than offering solutions. We had to fight for the basics. What you see in the pics is not what you get. The hotel buffet is not worth the price, I would strongly advise against it. Rooms were dirty, run down, and a very strong mold and wet smell. The wait for the front desk is always really long. Check in took about 45 times. Phone lines to reach front desk takes a long time as well. For the price I would stay somewhere else as I know there’s better hotels along the beach that would value the business.

GGuest UserWe had a great stay at Ala Moana hotel. Hotel is connected to a very large mall which gives access to many shops and food outlets. The hotel is well located in walking distance to the yacht harbor and even Waikiki beach. Staff is very friendly and all kinds of facilities are available. Breakfast is generally good, but unfortunately the food selection doesn't really change, so if you stay a bit longer it could get a bit boring

MManaSuisseExcept for the location near the airport I wouldn't recommend this hôtel. It's dirty and noisy. And when the breakfast is included in the price of room, you get coupon for the restaurant. The choice of food for breakfast is very small. And it's either coffee (a very very bad one) or water (a very very small bottle). And then you are allowed to eat in the restaurant and you have to take away and eat in your room as there is no other places to eat. This breakfast is a joke :(

MMf_808We travel 3-5 times a year from Maui, and love staying at the Best Western Plaza Hotel. The staff is great, my daughter loves the pool, and we love waking up and going down to get breakfast every morning.

GGuest UserThere was no bottled water in the room, but I asked a staff member in the hallway for one. Water refills were available on the first and third floors (where the lobby and pool are), and ice was conveniently available on each floor. I booked the breakfast option, which included choosing one of three daily menu items. Fruit, bread, and drinks were served buffet-style, but I felt like the selection could have been a bit larger. I stayed for two nights, Friday through Sunday, and on the first Saturday morning, I arrived after opening time, so I ended up waiting in line and sharing a table. On Sunday morning, I arrived before opening time, but they were already open. I think they probably opened early on Saturdays as well. So I recommend going early. There are plenty of places to eat outside the hotel, so I'm glad I didn't book breakfast included. The building was apparently renovated about three years ago, but it's old, and the door would have closed unless I pushed it from the inside. lol. But thanks to that, it was relatively affordable for Waikiki, so I was able to book an ocean view room! Although it is located on the outskirts of Waikiki, there is a Pink Line bus stop right in front of the hotel, which is convenient, and there is a breakwater right across the road to the beach, so you can swim in the shallow water safely. I recommend it as a beach location.

DDanielWe were a bit disappointed initially with the cleanliness as there was a stain on the bed sheet upon entering the room. Thankfully, housekeeping changed it within the hour. The place is located in a central location, close to the beachfront at Waikiki, with a partnership with beachfront stores for beach equipment, as well as GoPros, sunscreen, lotion etc. that can be borrowed, included in the resort rate. However, the age of the hotel is really starting to show, it is in need of not just a touch up but an overhaul where possible. To be fair, the price, especially that paid for during this period, was a fair representation especially compared to neighbouring downtown hotels, given you do receive much more space and a kitchenette with microwave in the case of the 1 bedroom suite. However, I would say that I would have enjoyed my stay far more if at least some work was put in to modernise the space. In particular, my bathtub had peeling paint, and the colours of the room need some work.
