"Upon checking in, the reception staff were cold and indifferent, failing to inform us about the breakfast location and policies. The next morning, we discovered that breakfast was expensive and subject to a service charge, even though our booking included breakfast. When we went to the front desk to inquire, they only then explained that "breakfast included" merely meant a $20 credit per person, with any excess to be paid out of pocket. They failed in their duty to inform us in advance, showed no remorse afterward, and shifted the blame to the outsourced restaurant. The hotel pool is ridiculously small. All in all, they provided zero value-added service, and to top it all off, they hit us with exorbitant resort fees upon checkout. Absolutely outrageous!"

Especially this morning when the roads were closed for the marathon, and the driver I booked couldn't get in, two doormen used the hotel shuttle to take me to the intersection and even helped me get across the road. It was truly a lifesaver, so grateful. I will definitely choose HALEKULANI again next time!"

"We had a glitch with checking in on arrival but after they sorted this and compensated us for the mess up i couldn't fault this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The position is perfect as are the phenomenal views. We had an ocean view so sat on our balcony every night to watch beautiful Waikiki sunsets We were provided access to the longboard room which provided a great breakfast and in the evenings drinks cheese and dips snacks and pasta the service here was fantastic Amenities are fantastic. Great gym and included yoga and plates sessions. Activities also available but we ran out of time for this I highly recommend this amazing resort"

"Initially, we were very satisfied with our stay. We had a sea-view room with a small balcony directly facing the beach and the ocean, which was fantastic. Our room also had two rocking lounge chairs and a small table on the balcony, making it incredibly pleasant to relax and watch the sunset and beach every day after returning to the hotel. The hotel staff, including the front desk, cleaning ladies, and pool area management, were all excellent. The only downside was the really poor soundproofing; there was absolutely no privacy. I tapped the wall by the headboard, and it sounded hollow, not a solid brick wall. We could clearly hear conversations from next door. We stayed for 4 nights, and a couple next door (whether married or not) put on an 'adult show' every day for those 4 days. It was like a live broadcast, just without the visuals, but the audio was crystal clear! I was truly speechless! It severely impacted our sleep, and sometimes we were woken up early by the 'ghostly' noises next door. Everything else was great, but the terrible soundproofing prevents me from giving a perfect score."

"Terrible service! When we arrived, no one on the hotel staff took our luggage. They didn't clean the room or change the towels. The breakfast was unappetizing and very expensive. It cost $210, but they charged us $270! And when I checked out, when I asked why, the hotel staff told me to go and sort it out myself at the breakfast location! And this was in the hotel! I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. I'm asking customer service to contact the hotel and sort this out."

We didn't get to use the pool because of stormy weather during our stay, but the mountain view from the room was beautiful."
