"I was pleasantly surprised! You get a full apartment to yourself. Bedroom, bathroom, tiny living space and kitchen. For this price the kitchen it a great find. It is located on the top of a hill so it will be tough to get back up. But easy to walk everywhere. Most top attractions are between a 15-20 min walk. This hotel has an elevator which is very nice. Would highly recommend!"

YYUWEII had a wonderful stay at Ruby Charm Houses. The host was extremely kind — he personally welcomed me outside when I arrived and also came to say goodbye when I left. He patiently gave me travel suggestions tailored to the length of my stay and reminded me of important things to keep in mind during my trip. The environment itself is beautiful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding, though unfortunately my schedule was too tight to fully enjoy it. What impressed me most was the thoughtful hospitality: plenty of high-quality complimentary food, fresh fruit, drinks, and even local red wine were provided. Everything was well prepared with great care. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I truly appreciated the host’s attention to detail.

MMaksNskSuper unusual and interesting apartments, lots of space and very clean! There is an elevator Our room had: an induction cooker, a sink, a full set of dishes, a capsule coffee machine with capsules, a kettle, a refrigerator with a freezer and even a vinyl player. A very hospitable hostess, always ready to help, told us about the events taking place in the city, where you can go. A compliment was waiting for us upon check-in: a small bottle of port wine! The location is not ideal, but good, from the Trindade station 7 minutes walk, to the beginning of the center 10 minutes. Walking to the center is no problem, but you need to return 1 km uphill There is a good supermarket Pingo Doce nearby

GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment. Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately. The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied. The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too. Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out. The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

AAnonymous UserIt's a very nice hotel. It provides breakfast with a variety of varieties. The grandma in the restaurant is very kind. She especially likes the croissants from Monday to Wednesday. It is the best I have ever eaten. Please note that it is not the small croissant coated with sugar on the outside. In addition, if friends who like pizza go to the local area, they must try the pizza there. At that time, I just wanted to finish it quickly and continue to open the map, so I randomly found a restaurant and ordered the Oporto Bella Margheritta, which is about 10 euros and 12 inches. The first bite left an impression on me. The experience of eating pizza for the first time. After eating it, you will unconsciously start to question what the long pizza-like things you have eaten before are. Increase the amount

GGuest UserPros - Location - easy access to Porto downtown area (3 metro stations to Sao Bento) - I choose travelling by metro as walking uphill and downhill in Porto is really tiring! - Room size as well as toilet - spacious enough even for two people, facilities - I like the kettle for boiling hot water. - Water from the shower very powerful and comfortable. - 2 bakery cafes nearby for taking breakfast (with reasonable price), one Chinese restaurant nearby provides hot food. Cons - Did not expect there was nobody at hotel front desk upon my arrival. With the help of a kind lady, I could communicate with the hotel staff via whatsapps and was able to check in without problem. ( I would like to say thanks to that kind lady) - No elevator, staying at lower floors is preferrable. - the room floorings had a cracking sound while walking, may be the building was a little bit old.

GGuest UserAmazing location, in the middle of everything you need to see & all the restaurants, patios, live music, etc. The hotel & the room is tiny but that’s expected with a historical place like this. We stayed in room#2 & it had a window facing the historical wall of this building, so don’t count on much of a view or natural light! A little bit of uphill but again that’s Porto, you can hardly get around without uphills & downhills! The owner Maria & the manager Martha are attentive & caring & ensure you have a great experience with your stay. When we arrived a welcome Portuguese tart was offered which was delicious & also Martha said you can pour yourself Port wine (also super tasty) any time,

OOften TravelerClean and well-located, but AVOID the basement ‘double room’ The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and in a great location with friendly service. However, I stayed in the basement-level ‘double room’. It’s located at the front of the property, directly at street level, with two small windows facing the pavement — making it difficult to get fresh air or natural light, and quite noisy due to passing pedestrians and cars, even with the windows shut and earplugs in. The photos captures many of the other room types charming features, which can be misleading for the double room in basement. In this particular room, ventilation was poor due to its position, and a musty smell from the bathroom lingered throughout the space. Given the price of this ‘double room’, it’s better off booking elsewhere — somewhere less charming but more practical — OR booking the other room types I assume are upper-level room to avoid the drawbacks of this front-facing basement unit.

GGuest UserWe were extremely satisfied with our stay. The location is very central — walking distance to all main sights. We had a junior suite for 3 people, a king size bed and a double sofa bed. The room was of a good size, and was very clean with all amenities we needed. Breakfast (bread, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, ham, pastries, juice, coffee/tea) was included. They were also able to store luggage until 8pm, though we only needed it until 3pm.Very good value. Will stay again if we visit Porto again.

GGuest UserIdeal location, you can get to the metro minutes 10-15 on beautiful streets. Nearby a ton of cafes and restaurants of different price categories. The room itself is not big. There is no refrigerator. But it is very comfortable. There were no cockroaches, no ants, no dirty clothes as it was written in other reviews. There are a few night bars downstairs. It's very noisy, the guilt of the votes. But it doesn't stress me, I can sleep at least on a disco. But 99% of people won't like it. There are berushes in the room, but they're unlikely to help. The biggest minus of a hotel that overlaps a lot of its pluses is that the staff member can enter your room without your consent and permission in your absence. Like they did to me. What they did there was not clear, but there was a dirty black straw (photo applied).

GGuest UserThe location is perfect. Sightseeing spots are within walking distance. There are seafood and Portuguese restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. It was quite difficult to go up and down the stairs with my suitcase. The hair dryer wasn't working well, and the hot air didn't come out continuously, coming on and going off.
