Huangshan Paiyun Hotel

This is a relatively new hotel on the mountain, and apart from the small rooms, everything else was great. The hotel service was very responsive, and they promptly informed us of any activities. The breakfast was also good. Coming from Yungu, it took us about two hours to reach the hotel, with some stops along the way. Paiyun Pavilion is right next to it, on flat ground, so no climbing required – just a three-minute walk. You can even spot a group of monkeys there. The scenery of Huangshan is truly picturesque.

The environment is great, and the hotel restaurant serves good food. The price is reasonable. The butler service is excellent; they even gave specific recommendations to help alleviate pain after coming down from the mountain. The front desk service is also very good. What surprised me the most was the evening show – the quality was impressive and clearly a lot of effort went into it.

Absolutely fantastic! This is the newest hotel on the mountain, and it shows. They offer so many thoughtful services: fresh fruit upon check-in, late-night congee, and a rich breakfast spread. They even organize guided tours to watch the sunrise, pretty much every service you could think of! The room is well-equipped with a windbreaker, shoe dryer, and flashlight, so you don't need to bring your own. Ten thousand thumbs up!

I highly recommend the Huangshan Paiyun Hotel! It's incredibly convenient to get there from the North Gate via the Taiping cable car. The hotel's location is perfect; it's very close to Paiyun Pavilion, offering stunning sunset views. Although the sunset was a bit off-center and obstructed on the day I visited 😄, that's certainly not the hotel's fault. The facilities are brand new and spotless, and the common areas have lively activities, creating a great atmosphere. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes and tastes great. Our butler, Weiwei, provided incredibly attentive service, patiently answering all our questions and offering practical itinerary suggestions. The whole experience was fantastic!

Absolutely thrilled with our stay! When I booked, I mentioned it was for a lady's birthday and hoped for a good view, not really expecting much. But to my surprise, the hotel decorated the room, prepared a cake, and even gave us lots of little gifts! On top of that, we got a suite upgrade! My mom was over the moon, haha. There was a New Year's Eve performance in the evening, and I was so surprised to see the famous Face-Changing show (it's real, I can attest to that!). They also had a shadow puppet show. Do the staff here really wear so many hats these days? The voice acting was amazing! There was also a dumpling-making activity, but we were too tired to join, though we did smell the delicious dumplings! The facilities were top-notch; the water pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable shower, and it was wonderfully warm at night for sleeping. Now, let's talk about our New Year's trip to Huangshan. On New Year's Eve, we took the Yungu cable car up the mountain, stopping to see a few sights along the way, and quickly checked into the hotel. The location was very convenient. There was light rain and heavy fog on the mountain. The next morning, we headed to Shixin Peak at 6 AM, hoping to catch the sunrise. The hotel-provided windproof cotton jackets kept us perfectly warm. Around 6:30 AM, the fog cleared a bit, and the most stunning sight was the ink-wash-like cloud sea around the 'Brush of a Dream' (Meng Bi Sheng Hua). People returning earlier had said the fog was too thick to see the sunrise, but we still went and it totally paid off! The layers of rime ice were fantastical and magical. Then we returned to the hotel for breakfast, with plenty of time! After checking out, we turned right from the hotel entrance, taking a different route to ascend Bright Summit, enjoying the scenery all the way, and then took the Yuping cable car down the mountain. Even though we didn't see the sunrise, we weren't disappointed at all. My mom was happy throughout the whole trip, and the rime ice was truly beautiful! P.S.: The hotel's architecture and decor were totally to my aesthetic taste, and there was even a book about Huangshan on the bedside table.

Seven years since my last visit to Huangshan, and I have to admit, I'm getting older, haha! This time, based on online reviews, I chose this hotel, and I must say, it's really good! Especially the water pressure in the room – it's incredibly strong and powerful! Upon check-in, they provide complimentary fruit and have a dedicated butler service offering thoughtful guidance. The sunrise and sunset spots are also not far from the hotel, and no matter how you plan your route, you can pretty much see everything in a two-day, one-night stay. The dinner buffet was also excellent; given the limited resources on the mountain, they really did an amazing job. Thumbs up! I hope we all do our part to protect the environment!
