This hotel is very cost-effective. It is run by a local. It is a single-family villa design with a small garden. It is in the city center, 2 kilometers away from Quito Cathedral, and 1 kilometer away from the park. There are many locals selling special snacks in the park, and vaccinations are also available. Very close, about 3 kilometers to anywhere, there are many restaurants and bars nearby, you can cook, many hotels in Quito do not have hot water, this one has hot water for bathing, the hotel in Quito basically does not provide toiletries, you need to bring your own , the price is cheaper than the homestays opened by Chinese people. It is quite like Home Inns in China. The Hanting is of the same level. If you stay for a long time, there is a discount. The average is only a few dozen days. The hotel is new and the restaurant is excellent. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel every half hour. There is a self-service ticket check-in machine in the lobby, which is quite user-friendly. The scenery is pleasant and the feeling is pleasant. There is a Hertz car rental station in the lobby, but the prices are better online. Car pickup and drop-off are at the hotel.

The room I booked was exactly as pictured. You should bring your own toiletries. There was no hairdryer, but hot water was available. The door would only open after you rang the bell. Breakfast was included, and it was a fat-reducing option, along with freshly squeezed orange juice. It's not far from the attractions, but I recommend staying indoors at night.

The hotel's facilities, hygiene and service are all very good, although the facilities are a bit old. What satisfied us most was its restaurant. Breakfast and lunch are buffets, and dinner is a la carte. The service is also very good and not expensive. Because of this restaurant, we stay here when we pass by Quito and are very satisfied.

CCarmyBreakfast was tasty and with a beautiful view. Our room was one of the nicest rooms that’s we’ve stayed in while travelling South America. It was the comfiest bed and the room had a well-designed interior. The staff are friendly and welcoming. At night it’s recommended to get taxis to where you need to go while in the day it’s fine to walk around this unesco world heritage site area. 100% recommend to stay here for a few nights if you have time.

Absolutely Outstanding Stay at Hotel Villa Lafayette!
My stay at Hotel Villa Lafayette was nothing short of exceptional. It’s by far the cleanest hotel in all of Ecuador—absolutely spotless in every corner. The entire property is beautifully maintained, quiet, and filled with elegant touches that make it feel both luxurious and welcoming.
The staff were outstanding—warm, attentive, and truly professional. They offered excellent local recommendations and always treated me with kindness and care.
The location is ideal—tucked in a peaceful part of La Mariscal, just a short walk from Plaza Foch and some of Quito’s best restaurants and shops. My room was quiet, stylish, and very comfortable, with a serene garden view that made me feel instantly relaxed.
Breakfast each morning was fresh, generous, and thoughtfully prepared. The entire experience felt safe, polished, and perfectly cared for.
If you’re looking for elegance, cleanliness, and world-class service, Hotel Villa Lafayette is simply the best choice in Ecuador. I would return in a heartbeat!

Due to the language barrier, the staff took the initiative to take out the mobile phone translation. When we left the next day, we called a taxi. The service was in place and the hotel was very clean and safe.

GGuest UserThere was a leak in my bathroom that almost ruined my personal cleaning items. The room they gave me was in front of the stairs and it was always noisy with people talking loud. The bottom of the toilet was disgusting. The person that welcomed me was the only one I cold day was efficient. I left the hotel this morning when I was supposed to leave tomorrow. That is how bad I felt there.

That said, the view from the upper floors is fantastic and definitely a highlight of the stay. Additionally, the breakfast was quite good, with a decent variety and tasty options. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but upgrading the facilities and decor would significantly improve the stay.

Only complaint was bathroom light was automatically on, and very bright, at 3:00 am, was a surprise. The little cafe up the street and to the right has wholesome food. Both are nicely priced.

Kkevie520The hotel is in a good location. There is a supermarket downstairs for shopping, and it is not far from the bus station. You can take the bus to the Quito City Museum. There is a hospital next to the museum where you can get yellow fever vaccinations. The public area of the hotel has a good environment, with many old objects and furnishings. The front desk owner is very nice and provides free printing services. A bag of clothes is dry cleaned for $5. You can see Quito Cathedral and Loaf Mountain from the top of the third floor, and the night view is also very good. The hotel here does not provide toiletries for taking off shoes, so you need to bring your own.
