"It’s in a great location just a short walk to the shopping street with lots to eat and buy and also a view of the castle. However the hotel is very old and it shows its age both in the condition of the rooms and the way it is managed. For example, they ask guests to leave the physical key with the front desk every time you go out: this is a very old practice at Japanese inns. For younger folks, it feels worse than having to tell your parents when you go out or come back 😭"

"I recently stayed at THE BLOSSOM Kumamoto and it was easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Japan.
The location is unbeatable — it’s directly connected to JR Kumamoto Station and sits above a shopping mall, which made everything incredibly convenient, from transport to dining and shopping.
The hotel itself feels very modern and well-designed. The lobby and common areas are spacious and stylish, and the rooms are surprisingly roomy by Japanese standards. Everything was spotless, and the layout (especially the separate shower and toilet areas) made the stay very comfortable.
One of the highlights was definitely the public bath (onsen). It’s clean, relaxing, and perfect after a long day of exploring. The hotel also offers great facilities overall, and you can tell everything is still quite new and well maintained.
The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the service really added to the overall experience.
Overall, THE BLOSSOM Kumamoto is a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and modern design. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kumamoto."

"Parking was available for my medium sized car, just big enough to fit in. Asked during check in and paid for all nights of the whole stay to get my parking spot reserved. Otherwise it was first come first serve.

"Pros:
1. Great location! It's a convenient 5-10 minute walk from Kumamoto Bus Terminal (easily accessible by bus from Fukuoka Airport), right in the commercial district. No worries about coming back late after shopping.
2. The hotel is very new and spotlessly clean. There wasn't a single dirty spot or any unpleasant odors. The hygiene was exceptional.
3. On the first floor, there's a self-service station for amenities and maps. On the middle floors, you'll find pajamas and a microwave.
4. The staff were fantastic! One gentleman spoke Chinese and proactively offered help in Chinese, and all the other staff members were incredibly nice.
Cons:
1. This is truly hard to explain, but I didn't sleep a wink for both nights of my stay. The hotel allows windows to be opened, so the temperature was good, but it got stuffy and hot in the middle of the night. The duvet was incredibly non-breathable, feeling like it was made of a poor quality material. My arms even broke out in a rash, possibly an allergic reaction. The pillow was also uncomfortable.
2. The room type I was given overlooked a construction site, and it was incredibly noisy.
Overall, it was a very strange stay. The hotel is new, and the staff are great, yet I somehow couldn't sleep for two nights. I'm still feeling groggy and can't pinpoint why it didn't work for me. However, I still highly recommend the hotel."

"This was my second stay here. The room is really only suitable for one person; it would be quite cramped for two. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the shopping street. It's also very close to the Kumamoto City tram station, and a taxi to Kumamoto Station isn't expensive, costing around 1200 yen. In the distance, outside the window, you can see a park, which looks especially beautiful in the morning."

"This Japanese onsen hotel met all my expectations. Every day after coming back, I could enjoy a hot spring bath. Inside, there's one hot and one cold bath, plus a sauna. Outside, there's an open-air hot spring. After bathing, you can choose from four types of ice cream and read Japanese manga for free. You can also pay for a massage. For the late-night snack from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM, they offer matcha and hot chocolate, along with a vegetarian ramen that comes with a quarter-egg. Overall, I looked forward to returning to the hotel every day after my excursions. I'll definitely stay here again next time."

"This hotel is really nice and conveniently located right on top of Sakura Machi mall, so there are plenty of food options and shops for shopping.
Right across the street is a pedestrian street, which is great for walking around. It’s not too crowded, so the atmosphere is quite relaxed.
There’s also a major bus stop right downstairs, which makes it super convenient—especially if you don’t have a car. If you’re traveling between cities, this is likely a main stop you’ll pass through.
For those who drive, you can find parking nearby. The hotel may offer parking discounts at certain locations, but I’m not entirely sure which ones.
The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and smells really nice—feels new and well-maintained. Amenities are quite complete as well.
The bed and pillows were just okay, slightly leaning towards the uncomfortable side. However, the bathroom is excellent, with a separate standing shower and a small bathtub. The room I got was also quite cute, with a small sofa area, which was a nice touch."

"Just a three-minute walk from Kumamoto Station, the location is excellent. The hotel seems to be an older one that's been renovated. It's been a long time since I've stayed in a room that uses a physical key! The room size isn't small for Japan, and the bed is huge. Overall, the facilities are very new. The triple room we stayed in was a decent size, but the bathroom drain had a really unpleasant, garlicky smell that I absolutely disliked. The public bath was a bit chaotic and not a hot spring; it had a strong bleach odor. You get what you pay for, I guess. The hotel's partner parking next door had a height limit, and the other partner lots were too far and not much cheaper. The next day, I just parked in the non-partner lot across the street, which was only about 200 yen more for the night.

NNZLEEThis hotel is super close to Kumamoto Station, just a three-minute walk. The room was really clean and had that typical Japanese style. I loved that I could take breakfast back to my room. And they even provided lotion, emulsion, and facial cleanser, which was a nice surprise! Toyoko Inn definitely offers great value for money!

Otherwise room is very cosy and fits four of us well. Bathroom is clean and nice. Washer in the room too.
I can jog to kumamoto castle which is nearby.

We appreciated the hospitality and professional services provided by the hotel staff. For the American breakfast, it’s yummy with various drinks. The hotel also provides free welcome drinks starting at 1600 hrs for guests. In terms of cost effectiveness, it’s ranked highest.

ヨヨシエさんI traveled around Kumamoto Prefecture by car. The hotel offered excellent parking facilities, and the staff were incredibly friendly, providing useful local information. From check-in to check-out, the front desk handled everything smoothly and courteously, making it a truly dependable hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. While the view from the window wasn't anything special, the quality of the hotel's services more than made up for it. The complimentary drink service after using the hot spring and the curry rice were absolutely perfect. This is definitely a place I'd love to revisit.

JJiangchuanmaijiuPros: Great location, super close to Sakuramachi bus terminal, making transfers really convenient. The front desk staff were also excellent. When I asked about sending my luggage to my next hotel, they took my next hotel reservation, handled everything themselves – contacting the next hotel and even filling out the shipping form for me.
Cons: The facilities are quite old. The water boiler is just a small stainless steel cup that you heat up – it's tiny and seems unsafe, I can't understand why they haven't upgraded it. Breakfast was also mediocre; all the fruit was canned.
