Right on a lively street, it's great! Perfect for a stroll or doing anything else. There's also a constant flow of people. Games, snacks, izakayas, and a convenience store are all downstairs. The service is also very sweet. Environment: 👌 Service: 👌 Hygiene: 👌 Facilities: 👌

JAL's service really deserves a thumbs up; many Chinese service industries could learn from them. My earring fell into the sink, and I'd pretty much given up hope. But the lady at the front desk and a gentleman went to great lengths to help me find it. I'm so grateful!

The room was quite spacious for a Japanese budget hotel; I could easily open two suitcases on the floor. The self-service amenity station on the second floor at the front desk was super convenient, with a huge variety of items, including drip coffee and even proper disposable slippers! Having a 7-Eleven downstairs was a bonus for grabbing things. Oh, and the shower pressure was great too. I'm really happy with this place!

Staying at OMO5 Kumamoto by Hoshino Resorts was a truly delightful surprise! The hotel boasts an excellent location, right above a bustling shopping district in the city center, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. What impressed me most was the exclusive outdoor viewing terrace – I could sip coffee while gazing at the magnificent Kumamoto Castle, and both the daytime and nighttime views were absolutely captivating. The room design, with its warm wooden tones and modern feel, was thoughtfully laid out, making for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Combining Hoshino Resorts' signature attentive service with excellent value for money, this is definitely my top recommendation for accommodation when visiting Kumamoto. I highly recommend it to everyone! However, there's one thing I need to mention: even when the air conditioning wasn't on, there were constant drafts of cool air, as if cold air was wafting up from the floor. This was quite uncomfortable.

Location is close to kumamoto station, you only need to take the tram for 1 stop. Alternatively, there is also a paid shuttl bus by the hotel that takes u around. We got a room change because our original room had an insect, the staff was quick and nice about it. Room style is quite old school as it is an old building. There’s also a kumamon mascot that greets u at the lobby :)

The location is great, near to the malls and Kumamoto Castle. The room is great, nice street view and rather spacious. The buffet breakfast is fine, and the coffee served is really good. The only problem I was facing is the room temperature. It was a little warm and stuffy without AC, I could not have a good sleep because of that.
