Mercure Istanbul Bakirkoy

Stayed for 4 consecutive nights and booked a superior twin room with an area of ​​25 square meters. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were assigned to the end room, Room 1416. A large area of ​​the room was taken up by the hotel's equipment room. We asked the front desk to change rooms and asked them to come at 12 noon the next day. We went early the next morning, and there was a new person at the front desk. We were told that changing rooms would cost extra money, so we went out to play. We came back in the afternoon and asked the front desk again. , the front desk said that we didn’t come at 12 noon and they couldn’t change us. Haha, it’s really ridiculous. Are we here just waiting to change rooms? In desperation, we asked Ctrip for help. Ctrip said they would give us a reply before 8 pm that night, but when we waited, no one answered the hotel's phone and the email was not responded to. It wasn't until 2 pm on the third day that Ctrip notified the hotel that it agreed to change our room. Thanks to Ctrip's help, we didn't have to stay in that pigeonhole-like room for the last two nights. This Mercure hotel, a hotel owned by AccorHotels, is obviously discriminating against Asians. It deliberately gave us the smallest room (probably a room that cannot be sold). It has a obviously different attitude towards white people from Europe and the United States. It's really disgusting!

Rooms very spacious and clean, staff friendly, location is perfect if you need to be in and around the Bakirkoy district, with the tram (marmaray) also not far from the center Public transport is very cheap and very good in Istanbul about 80 cents per person to the center. Taxi to center about 8 euros. (March 2023) We will definitely come here again. Really worth the four stars.
