fav KAGOSHIMA CHUO
"I stayed 5 nights in Kagoshima for a leisurely trip. The hotel has 12 floors with 4 rooms per floor and 2 elevators. There was only one staff member at the front desk, but they were very friendly. Check-in and check-out were done via a self-service machine. Rooms don't have keys; instead, you get a 4-digit passcode. **Pros:** The rooms are spacious, perfect for families, and some even have bunk beds. Each room comes with a kitchen and a washer-dryer combo, which was super convenient as I cooked dinner three times. The hotel is located between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and the Tenmonkan shopping district. Both are about 900 meters away, and since Kagoshima city center isn't that big, you can easily walk around the commercial areas. **Cons:** As many have mentioned, the breakfast isn't great. There are only five simple options. In Japan, if you don't eat breakfast at the hotel, it can be quite challenging and time-consuming to find something outside."
Quintessa Hotel Kagoshima Tenmonkan Relax&Sleep
"I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others."
Hotel Urbic Kagoshima
"The check-in and check-out process was very smooth, which was great."
Dormy Inn Kagoshima
"The room quality is on par with the average Dormy Inn. The hot spring is on the top floor, and overall, it's pretty good. The location is also convenient."
Rainbow Sakurajima
"The room was the best part. They also had rental bicycles, which was fantastic. Next time I stay in Sakurajima, I'd like to stay here with my parents."
Gracias
"The big plus for the apartment is the view of the volcano across the bay. It’s a short tram ride from the train station and an easy walk to the ferry across to Sakurajima. The owner doesn’t speak English, but it is very easy and quick to communicate via her daughter. The accommodation itself is well equipped - good to have a washing machine - but it is all very basic. For the price, we were happy with our stay."
Hotel Welview Kagoshima
"Very good hotel and we got a good deal to stay. The male staff from front desk explained to us on all the nitty gritty, in a typical Japanese polite way. Onsen is at 4 floors and it is typical Japanese Onsen. There are washing and drying facilities on the 4th floor which is budget friendly, where we wash our laundry. The hotel however is away from the town center which might be inconvenient for some travellers that wan to walk around."
Silk Inn Kagoshima
Featuring soothing natural hot springs and comfortable rooms, it’s the perfect place to unwind after exploring.
Hotel Fukiageso
"The location is fantastic! It's very convenient for visiting Shiroyama Observatory, Terukuni Shrine, the planetarium, Kagoshima Castle, and Sakurajima. The surrounding area is also very quiet, so you won't be disturbed at night. The hotel staff are very friendly and help make your beds every day. So I booked 3 nights for this short trip. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kagoshima next time. Highly recommended for those who like Japanese-style houses."
Sakurajima Seaside Hotel
"location is fine, service fine, but hotel itself too too old"
