We cycled there and after discovering the security camera where we should have parked our bikes wasn't working, they allowed us to park them under grand staircase inside! Top service."

"The big plus for the apartment is the view of the volcano across the bay. It’s a short tram ride from the train station and an easy walk to the ferry across to Sakurajima. The owner doesn’t speak English, but it is very easy and quick to communicate via her daughter. The accommodation itself is well equipped - good to have a washing machine - but it is all very basic. For the price, we were happy with our stay."

The room was small and smelly, and the hotel was a bit too old. The service was very warm and the location was good, with the most famous local shrine right next door."
