"The hotel is located just a short walk from Kagoshima Chuo Station. When I was wondering where to park my rental car behind the hotel, a parking attendant kindly showed me the way. For dinner, I went to Nishiya, an izakaya behind the hotel. The counter is wide and it's OK even for one person. I enjoyed yakitori and satsumaage with shochu. The next morning, I went for a walk towards Tenmonkan. The streetscape has a sense of history. After seeing the statue of Saigo Takamori, I returned to the hotel by streetcar. The hotel is conveniently located in front of Takami streetcar station. As for the hotel breakfast, it was a buffet with a wide variety of home-style dishes, and if I took a little at a time onto my plate, it would end up being two plates. I also helped myself to chicken rice."

"The big plus for the apartment is the view of the volcano across the bay. It’s a short tram ride from the train station and an easy walk to the ferry across to Sakurajima. The owner doesn’t speak English, but it is very easy and quick to communicate via her daughter. The accommodation itself is well equipped - good to have a washing machine - but it is all very basic. For the price, we were happy with our stay."

"There are convenient parking spaces right outside the hotel, but we were told that parking spaces are limited and it's best not to move the car before leaving the hotel, otherwise you'll have to park in the public parking lot outside once all the spaces are used up. The room was small and smelly, and the hotel was a bit too old. The service was very warm and the location was good, with the most famous local shrine right next door."
